    Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

    the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

    Havoline formula 10W30
    Havoline synthetic 5w30

    Honda original MTF approx 1000Rs /liter

    (Automatic transmission) 2.4 L at change, 5.9 L at overhaul @ 40,000kms

    Honda Brake fluid. approx 1000Rs /liter

    Hydraulic Clutch oil:
    Honda Brake fluid.

    Power steering oil: 1 litre @ 40,000kms
    Honda genuine PSF. approx 1000Rs /liter

    Coolant: Manual:5.2 liter Auto:5.5 liter @1,50,000kms or 4 years
    Honda type 2 coolant
    Caltex coolant.

    Parts change:

    Brake pads change:
    recommended @ 40,000kms
    Genuine Honda pads or Original Nissin pads.

    Fuel filter change @ 80,000kms

    Air filter change @ 10,000kms
    Use Honda filter. If any other then change earlier.

    Spark plugs @ 80,000-1,00,000kms
    NGK Laser Iridiums. IZFR6K11

    Timing belt: Not required. Civic 8th gen has timing chain instead of belt which usually last a life time.

    Tune-up @20,000 kms.
    Things done:
    Throttle plate cleaned, valves adjusted, plugs cleaned/replaced and idle adjusted using HDS.

    Default honda civic 8th ganeration after 40,000 your car reborn just like new

    I brought the car in 2013 august. it was brand new pin pack. I was lover of 8th generation civic because the 9th generation civic didn't apples me. I love to drive that car I maintain my civic very fine, just like original lubricants and filters.
    my car drive was very smooth light or can say excellent acceleration, but when my car reached 35000 it started problems and the paddle of my civic was very hard. very bad acceleration, so I passed from very painful time period, my car reached at 40000, nothing improved.
    some told me change the fuel filter, I search on internet. and replaced it I feel 20%diffrence.but very disturb, I made valve adjustment and throttle service and throttle calibration. 5 % improvement, again I was very disturb that this was not my reborn who just booms, then some one told me that change the torque foundation, I was so irritated that told them that change it when they uninstall the old one it was quite ok, but I ignore it , I feel some change some where 10%, but the excellent acceleration issue remain same. I think my be the machine get older it drops its performance. I think I should sell it, I went to my car mechanic who was known by good valve adjuster,i told him to inspect the valve again and make throttle calibration, during this process my car also start blowing sound from engine booomm booomm when I give 3000 rpm, oo man what the hell is going with my car, I was literally sick, at night when I was back from workshop I start studying about catalytic converter , whole night I study it and in Moring I plan to go Honda pit, and request manger to just unplug the catalytic converter and hand over to me, I my self will clean it, i used the paint brush and enter from first sensor hole and clean the surface and insert the air pressure from second hole it blow out dust air, used the vacuum cleaner and air pressure it take one hour contentious cleaning, after that the boys carefully reinstall the catalytic converter.
    i give the start, but guys when i drive my car , my orginal acceleration was restored, feb 19 2016 was the lucky day to get rid of the problem, i took my car to moterway it was extremely smooth , all the bad sound was finshed, the engine was behaving perfect nics sounds, so once again i was in love with my car.

    I noticed my car's AC cooling was not up to the notch last year, so this year I want to get something done about it before it gets hot.

    It's a 2011 model.

    Any good place you guys might know where I could get it checked. It probably needs some more gas. I have no idea how to proceed and where to go.

    Please share any info you might have. Thanks!

    I went to a 3S shop. They have the same jugad people that work on roadside shops, working for them. They assigned me a chotta, didn't do any testing and just told me to get the service done worth Rs. 5,800.

    just curious what is your driving habit? Do you drive with slow acceleration or fast acceleration? Only use regular fuel or also use high octane?
