    Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

    the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

    Use Honda filter. If any other then change earlier.

    Timing belt: Not required. Civic 8th gen has timing chain instead of belt which usually last a life time.

    Tune-up @20,000 kms.

    I've started facing strange key problem - The original key which was used for like 3 years gets stuck halfway in the ignition port (Works for locks and boot), while the spare key works for ignition and other locks. Is the problem with the key or ignition barrel?From where do i get this fixed and how much would it cost?

    This is common problem with Hondas. Both civic and city. Can be fixed easily.

    @Sk_KingpiN Bro i wanted to ask a question from u...Did u ever get the torque mounts of ur car replaced? Im facing slight engine vibrations on cold start..and overall the engine noise transmitted inside the cabin is alot as compared to other cars..I also seem to feel engine movement while coming on and off throttle mostly at low engine rpms..Please help me in this regard..Oil mount had been changed by honda free of cost but the rest are original as in not changed even once..car has roughly 100k on the odo

    Brother I have no idea about torque mounts. Never got them changed. My friend is facing exactly same issue with his 180k driven civic. I'll ask him what he has done to rectify this issue and will get back to you.

    It's a broken oil mounting. This generation has 3 mountings out of which two are fixed and one is hydraulic (has oil in it). The oil one tends to get damaged ALOT. Your friend is lucky that he faced it after 180K on odo. Ive replaced it twice in 125K driven 2010 model.
    It costs around 14,000 from 3S. There are copies available also ranging from as low as rs 2500 to Rs 7000.

    My car is 93K driven, Now i am planning to go for her complete tunning.


    • When i say complete tunning, what mechanic must cover under this tunning work and what is total cost of tunning from Honda 3S?
    • I want to replace plugs, air filter and fuel filter as well, what is cost of each part item?
    • Should i buy above mentioned parts from Honda 3S or outside Honda from any other parts dealer ?Kindly confirm parts prices (Honda 3S or outside, which ever you have experienced)
    • Which 3S dealer is good to go for tunning job in Islamabad ? 1-10 , Peshawar road or Honda avenue.I want to have work done from a reliable mechanic of Honda, please suggest.

    Twice? You're unlucky.
    My 8th gen was 117k driven and that notorious oil mount was still fine.
    Sold it and new owner replaced it at 140k.

    hi guys very nice car recently got its engine oil changed with Api Sm 5w-30 genuine honda oil fully synthetic also changed its oil and air filter among it and its been driven 42k km now .. So am observing this strange thing from the very start i bought this car from first owner that sometimes in the morning on very first ignition it makes certain loud n instant "shuuuuush" kind of noise then engine starts up so would like to know if anyone else facing similar issue like this or is it just normal behavior being an auto car ?

    Hello umair bhai.
    That's the sound of starter. You can leave it as it is. Nothing to be worried.

    However if you want to get it fixed, Servicing the starter can cure that kirk/shush sound upon cold start.

    For mechanical repairs, go to Honda classic I-10.
    Don't let any roadside mechanic touch it.
    Plugs toughly cost around 7-8k and fuel filter costs around 10k if I remember correctly.
