Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

Not in Civic but other cars. The outers are widely available for all cars from best chinese qualities to japanese. No need to buy the rod, inner when not required. Usually the outer one goes bad mostly due to grease leakage if rubber boot is torn.

Thanks for prompt reply..In my case the boot is not torn at all on both sides..there are no drive issues except when i make a sharp right turn i hear a growling noise only when accelerating while making a turn..And when car is off and stationary and i hold the rod and wiggle it inside out i can hear a 'tun tun' sound that i can also feel in the alloy rims when i put my hand on it..

Sound on turn means your outer right one is worn out. Since it is genuine honda japanese, do not let it go by changing with another one - i mean to say is most of the time the outer is repairable to the extenet that ball bearings, cage inside needs only a bit of rubbing and its good to go for another few thousand kms -its a good jugaar - it did happen to me twice and car kept running. But ultimately i changed to a best quality chinese outer and its 2nd year now and Mashallah its soundless. So, search the market and ask reputes part dealers. Honda 3s will definitely bring a heavy dent on the pocket

Can it work out by just putting in the grease or will it have to be replaced..Honda sell the inner and outer as one for 33 thousand one side..Thats not affordable..some people are recommending kabli used but im not satisfied..Il consult a good mechanic

No. The clickng sound on turns is of metal surfaces getting rubbed due to excess loss of grease (most probably) or any other reason. You will easily get brand new excellent quality outer. Just search them chinese even come with 6month warranty.

There is actually no clicking sound..Thats the strange part..while turning at a very slow speed there is no sound at all..When only taking a Sharp right turn is when there is a growling sound not a typical cv joint click..

He is talking about suspension bushing - the hard rubber thing pressed inside control arms etc. They get bad With time or many other reasons. Never apply oil beneath ur car during servicing. It eats up all rubber items

Alignment issue is due to play in steering rack aka kangi. .....the parts can be pressed if not worn out much and if it's worn excessively they need to be changed...I got all work done in arnd 12k including bushings....parts were changed in repairing case it would have been and 4k...and less driven doesn't mean that they will not go out...it can be due to driving on rough roads etc

The car concerned is Civic 2008 aka Reborn. AC trips at Idle only. When the car moves it works again. This is observed when the car reaches the optimum temperature. What is the reason for that.....

Gas can be less in the system and the second thing can be a bad compressor
