Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

Automatic transmission does not have a clutch plate like manual that can be changed. It needs only oil change at every 40,000 kilometres

i went to Honda Point for oil change n balancing n the guy said the shock boots need repalcemnt , but did not say a word about oil mountings.. when i went to honda fort (from where i get the major repairs done) they were to ones to diagnose the root cause .. point is go to the best place available in yr locality.....
Old reply but I need some info. Today I found that my shock boot are also torn, the guy at Honda said mounting and boot need to be replaced and total cost is around 11500. I was thinking of delaying it by 2 weeks as it needs 2.5 hrs around and I have to also go out of station on during eid holidays. Is this feasible ? To wait for another 2 weeks ? I dont know how long it has already been since they are torn.

Oh forgot the main thing, it is mentioned warranty ? and that if car is less than 5 years old. Yeh kia scene hey ? I though warranty was only 2 years ? I have late 2012 model.

Not that I have any experience, maybe wrong to say but I have heard that buffing removes UV film or a microscopic protective coating from the windscreen. As a result the screen may temporarily look new and clear but will scratch even more and deteriorate further in a very short time. Dont know if thats true. Maybe just a myth but research some more before trying to get it buffed.

thanks for the feedback dear, may be you are right. but i went to honda to change windscreen. There someone asked me to go for buffer as the scratches are removeable. Changing windscreen for scratches was not recommendable. Then i just thought before this can take a risk of buffer. New screen may not fit well, its the major part of body and will be considered accidential for next sales.

Sure there's no harm in trying it. Nothing to lose, worst case scenario you can change screen later
