    Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

    the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

    Fluids:

    Engine oil: 3.7-4 liters @5,000kms
    Havoline formula 10W30
    Havoline synthetic 5w30
    Genuine Honda (Total Repack) 5w30Transmission oilManual transmission) 1.4 L Fluid Change, 1.6 L at Overhaul @ 40,000kms.
    Honda original MTF approx 1000Rs /liter

    (Automatic transmission) 2.4 L at change, 5.9 L at overhaul @ 40,000kms
    Honda original ATF approx 1000Rs /literBrake oil: 0.9 litre after 2 years
    Honda Brake fluid. approx 1000Rs /liter

    Hydraulic Clutch oil:
    Honda Brake fluid.

    Power steering oil: 1 litre @ 40,000kms
    Honda genuine PSF. approx 1000Rs /liter

    Coolant: Manual:5.2 liter Auto:5.5 liter @1,50,000kms or 4 years
    Honda type 2 coolant
    Caltex coolant.

    Parts change:

    Brake pads change:
    recommended @ 40,000kms
    Genuine Honda pads or Original Nissin pads.

    Fuel filter change @ 80,000kms

    Air filter change @ 10,000kms
    Use Honda filter. If any other then change earlier.

    Spark plugs @ 80,000-1,00,000kms
    NGK Laser Iridiums. IZFR6K11

    Timing belt: Not required. Civic 8th gen has timing chain instead of belt which usually last a life time.

    Tune-up @20,000 kms.
    Things done:
    Throttle plate cleaned, valves adjusted, plugs cleaned/replaced and idle adjusted using HDS.

    Friends I recently got an Oriel Prosmatic Reborn. It's about a 100k driven well maintained and full Honda service history is available. While driving I feel the engine noise is a bit heavy. I have never driven another Oriel Prosmatic. It can specially be noted when the engine crosses 2k rpm. But the drive and acceleration is good. Is this normal

    May be the previous owner removed the catalytic converter. Get it checked.

    Hey!

    Around 2 months ago i purchased a 2007 Oriel PT, which was around 25K driven. I've driven it around a 1000Km by now. From what i know, Civics from that time had a Engine Mount issue. The first time i took it to the 3S dealer in Lahore (Airport road) the guy said its fine, and when it breaks there are cracks. But after reading up on the internet, everywhere it says, that when the mount fails, the space between the protuding edge and bottom becomes very small. Normally its around a cm, and mine is definitely less than a cm but its not cracked at all. Should i be worried? Secondly will they still replace it for free?

    Second issue, the owner only had 1 key. The one with the remote. Now i'm scared incase the key ever gets damaged i'll get screwed because of the immobilizer thing. So what do you guys recommend? Get a normal immobilzer key made from Honda?

    If there is no vibration or other problems just leave the mounting as it is. Get a normal duplicate key made. I also need to make one so please share the cost.

    About Engine Mount : They replaced mine for free without any charges , its a 2010 prosmatec VTi , I was experiencing some slight acceleration jerk / vibrations but even after getting it replaced the problem was there , finally after so much observation , the problem was with Eurostar tyres so bought new tyres for it now its perfect !

    I live near PWD Islamabad. i want to ask that there are just two issues i want to fix
    1). Gear shifter is a bit loose and needs to tighten.
    2). want to check and tighten if needed all nut bolts under car and suspension.

    should i go to Honda authorized 3s (I-10/3) or there is any good mechanic available in the city

    What u ppl suggest

    Ask the previous owner if he got the 40k service done from a 3S dealer. If not then better get it done from a 3S. When ever u buy a used car better change all oils and filters, brake service and a computer diagnosis done for peace of mind. Looking forward to see pics of your car and welcome to the club. Oh and they do check all bolts and nuts in the 40k service
