Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

I have a question..how much oil do our cars need..is it 3.7L as the manual says or 4 litres as what everybody says..and what is the damage if we put 300 ml extra oil in it??? ...secondly what are the advantages of using an oem oil filter bought frm the dealership over the guard filter???...

Always put 3.7L when oil filter is changed and 3.2 - 3.3 litres when oil filter is not changed. Don't over fill. It effects fuel economy and damages seals of engine.
Guard filters are crap as compared to oem ones. Oem filter ensures the cleaning of oil and filters dust particles better than guard and leppon ones. Better stick to oem and change after 10,000km.

Bhai which honda dealership says that? Even Honda's genuine engine oil packing is of 3.7L instead of 4L. Also check owner's manual it requires 3.7L when oil filter is changed.

Bro better get it done from honda people. Market is full of fake oils nowadays. At least it's confirmed that their oils are genuine and not fake.

Aap packing se confuse hogaye honge. Their packing looks same as a 4L oil can. But it's 3.7L.
About Total oil, I'm more than satisfied with it. My experience with caltex fully synthetic was not good at all. My car is 110k and even driven it in the rough and hot terrains on total oil. Never faced any issue. Pick, mileage, top speed everything is perfect M.A.

I know bro ur right that market is full of fake people and fake oils but i go a very trusted seller which alot of people recommended me its MAKKI oil store..they are the official distributors of total oils also..i was thinking of getting the imported Total quartz 9000 5w30 from this coz last time i poured in caltex fully synthetic 5w40 and my car feels a but sluggish owing to the higher viscosity..i know honda people also sell the same oil but still i think there might be a difference in local packed total oil and imported one..what do u think?
