Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

Suggest the tyres for Civic VTi; I am low on budget; will get just tyres for the time being and then in a month or so will get rims.

In past I used Goodyear GT3 in Cultus and City. Now I am recommended Maxxis. If I am remembering right M35 195/65 R15 (Taiwan) for 8000Rs a piece (negotiable) with offer to adjust 14,000 for the factory fitted EuroStar (General) tyres. How do you guys rate that for Civic? Also how much Oriel rims would cost me?

    DONNOT go for Maxxis/Toyo etc

Dealers have a high profit margin in these tires thats they they push their customers for them.

The following is my experience with my 1.8s since 2006

    Best All rounder tires

    Yokohama dB Decible
    Michillin Energy

    Extreme traction/grip

    Falken ZieX 912
    Yokohama C Drive

    Comfort

    Yokohama C Drive
    Dunlop Eco

I will suggest either yoko db or Michillin.

As for Oriel rims, you can get a clean set in 25K

Mine is 2009, but its steering is grey.
I think grey looks better as it matches the dashboard.

Has anyone tried installing Audio Controls on Steering Wheel? According to Installing Steering wheel audio controls - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum we need 36770-SNA-A11 (2006) or 36770-SNA-A12 (2007) component for this. (Google these filtering just images) Is this part available from Atlas dealers or local market?

And on the steering thingy, I'll be looking for it in the scrap yards of HK soon. If I get hold of one, I'll post; if you get hold of any and in a reasonable price, do let me know.

My bro has bought a Civic 2008 (simple version) yesterday, today we took her out for a drive and the check engine light was on (the one on the right side of battery sign), we tried to convert it to petrol but the light was still there. I was wondering if you guys have encountered something like this?

The car has CNG installed in it. Secondly when I drove the vehicle, I found the steering very hard as compared to my Vitz 06, is this normal?
I didn't choose vitz, vitz chose me!

    Thanks.
I'll definitely look for them. Actually I did go to the "Sultan ka Khoo" of Hong Kong today but because of shortage of time, I couldn't look for the parts. I'll come to Pakistan inshAllah in June and I have plans to bring some stuff for my car. I'll inshAllah post a thread after a market survey, for pakwheelers so that I can bring some thing within my capacity. Allah karay jo sooch hai us k liye mujhay time mil jai bas...

Again, if you find this kind of stuff there, do let me know as well.
