    Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

    the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

    Coolant: Manual:5.2 liter Auto:5.5 liter @1,50,000kms or 4 years
    Honda type 2 coolant
    Caltex coolant.

    Parts change:

    Brake pads change:
    recommended @ 40,000kms
    Genuine Honda pads or Original Nissin pads.

    Fuel filter change @ 80,000kms

    Air filter change @ 10,000kms
    Use Honda filter. If any other then change earlier.

    Spark plugs @ 80,000-1,00,000kms
    NGK Laser Iridiums. IZFR6K11

    Timing belt: Not required. Civic 8th gen has timing chain instead of belt which usually last a life time.

    Tune-up @20,000 kms.
    Things done:
    Throttle plate cleaned, valves adjusted, plugs cleaned/replaced and idle adjusted using HDS.

    What does the idle pulley tensioner exactly do? How do you figure out it needs replacing? And if you don't replace it immediately, can it cause any harm?

    Also has anyone got the brake tropes resurfaced from honda 3s? Do they do it properly with a lathe or use sandpaper manually? Because they charge 3k for it..

    auto tensioner normally gets faulty when its opened and fitted by people other than Honda (my experience)

    the brake disks are sent for lathe machine to out side Honda 3S dealer.
    Honda people only open/fit them.
    And Yes, it get a lot better once you do it.

    Bro swap will cost about 6 Lakhs. My plan is:
    Facelift with lips, Rear smoked tail lamps, Some nice rear wing, MultiSpoke 17s or 18s, Cruise and Climate Control. Steering Replace with civic hybrid steering, Detailing from Detailing Crew Lahore, Front Sparco/Bride Black Bucket Seats, 3m Tints and Rear black seat cover and Coilovers. These are interior and exterior mods which will cost around 2.5 to 3 lakhs. Engine mods after couple of years including K20 swap and with Stage one to Stage 2 mods it will be around 7.2 lakhs. Thus total of around 10.5 lakhs. But in the end what you get is worth for your money since you'll have a car which is extremely sexy as well as beast and no rolla either with K20 being a bolt on swap.

    But obviously we have to look at many things
    I was watching videos of civic FD2 at YouTube and man to enjoy this car you really need roads proper tracks and I don't know about your areas but it's simply impossible to enjoy this beast in Karachi
    Maximum we had phase 8 DHA roads here to hit the limits but unfortunately at one track they have constructed huge car breakers and near emaar road phase 8 they have DHA pickets / checkpoints with fence and gate
    I don't know where will i go to enjoy the beast
    309 can Def enjoy all this if he gets a car like this as he lives in UK I am sure they have all the facilities and proper tracks to enjoy their car's there !

    Driving New Corolla these days
    And I don't miss my 9th gen civic it is parked in my garage reason being , traffic conditions , signals after every 2 mins , speed breakers etc , you hardly cross 80 km/h and can't enjoy and rev your car
    to comparing 1.3 or 1.6 or 1.8 is basically is useless in such conditions
    Yes those who use highways and motorway they should go for higher displacement engines etc

    Bro the only hurdle is drop. Get 18s and drop that will help on breakers. And this plan is strictly for people who don't take the car out much.

    Oh bhai even if we take it out once in a blue moon
    Still where will you hit 270 km/hr in 30 seconds ? Or where will you enjoy the handling at sharp corners and 150 km/h speed
    I haven't seen any such place in Karachi and I don't think there any track like that in gujranwala either
