Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

If its a black car then 2007 model has Granada Black Pearl paint
If its 2012 then its painted Nighthawk Black Pearl.

The deck is also different in later models.

My 2009 has a silver steering. Its after june 09 production those came with Silver while ones before June 09 had black steerings. Also the "SRS Airbag" sign in passenger dashboard side of oriel (next to AC vent) was printed/sticker before 2009 and embossed/carved after 2008-2009
    Valid for Oriel only

Hi there gentlemen, there is a noise coming from the fan belt area of my 8th Gen. I got it checked from Honda and they say that the automatic belt tension-er has to be changed along with the belt. Total cost about Rs. 20k. Has any one faced this issue and is there any other way to resolve this issue?

    Thanks

It needs to be changed asap without any further delay. What these rubber boots do is save internal moving parts from attracting dirt/debris and getting dry that way. If not changed you may be replacing the entire part and not just the boot after a while

    Bro you're in TROUBLE

faced this problem recently... the shock boots cost around 5000 , but they usually crack when another component called 'OIL MOUNTINGS' go bad which alone cost around 16000 .. if the oil mountings need replacement n u just get the shock boots changed , they'll crack again.. very soon... get your car checked from a reputable 3S dealership n try to get them changed under warranty if yr car is less than 5 yrs old..

i went to Honda Point for oil change n balancing n the guy said the shock boots need repalcemnt , but did not say a word about oil mountings.. when i went to honda fort (from where i get the major repairs done) they were to ones to diagnose the root cause .. point is go to the best place available in yr locality.....
