Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

However if its driven non stop for long duration at a speed of 150+ there is a possibility of heating them up and they give up early

Slight clarification bro, from what I understood told to me by mechanic: if you drive it constantly above 150 for a stretch of 50 kilometres or so, that starts heating up the bearings which go bad and give away. Or the other scenario is if car is driven in deep water resulting water to penetrate into them, which causes bearings to deposit impurities of dirty road water and also water reaction ultimately making them dry producing more friction.
So depends if kharcha is really coming your way or not. Original set of all 4 i.e. Front+Rear bearings is around 30k (I hope i am correct and have not forgotten the prices)

    Hello guys,

Just upgraded from civic 04(A/T) to 2011(A/T). The car clocks 59k and I have just got the following things done:
    1. Throttle body serviced.
    2. Injectors cleaned- (ultrasonic)
    3. Oil changed- ZIC A+( Im hoping its fully synthetic)
    4. Air filter changed
    5. Plugs changed (iridium- Honda recommended)
    6. Wheel Alignment (excluding balancing)

Ok having mentioned all this , though I?m pretty sure these topics must have been covered in one of the forums/pages ,I have two queries which i`d like your valuable input on:

    a) The car is giving a mileage of 6.5-7kms/ liter , with RPM remaining within 3000 at almost all times. It is pertinent to mention It is pertinent to mention that I drive with a light foot and have tried different acceleration/driving styles.
    b) Have a strange hauling noise which I,m assuming is because of those Eurostar tires or one of the wheels. Although while going through the forum It has come to my knowledge that the engine mount can be one of the reasons but im ruling it out at the moment on account of no vibration at speeds ranging between 0-130 km/hr. Suggest me the deal with Honda is still on and if I should consider having it changed .

Please correct me if the above stated fuel average is true to this specific model (8th gen) and that if anything can be done for its improvement (mechanical/technical), please be noted that the above mentioned service items were done to improve the fuel average/regular maintenance and were to the best of my knowledge. One more that I wanted to have done but wasn?t sure about ,was changing of the transmission oil as the guy at the Honda part store said it will take about 3-4 liters however what I read on the internet was that the entire flush out takes about 7 liters to be replaced.

    Suggestions are also welcome.

Get the noise checked out by a 3S workshop. Do change all oils. One is never sure of past maintenance unless there are proper receipts to support. Also get the brakes serviced.

I have just got a weird problem. The car does not start. In fact it does not do anything. Nothing works like remote key or lights or ignition. I thought the battery is dead but I have just checked and battery is showing 12.4 volts which means the battery is good.

Wondering what the hell happened over night. It was fine last night and it didnt give any indications like battery was dying or anything.

I am going to try jump start when other car comes home.
