Default 8th generation Civic fan and owner club

the 2006 generation Honda split the model into two different platforms, one primarily for the home market and North America and the other designed for the European market using a simpler rear suspension from the Honda Fit and more aggressive styling. As of 2006, a total of 16.5 million Civics had been sold worldwide, with 7.3 million of them in the United States.[5] Although the North American and the home market model differ externally, they are mechanically identical. The European model is available as a three and five-door hatchback while the Japanese/North American model is available as either sedan or coupe. Both Si and Type-R trim levels continue although the Japanese and European Type-R while sharing the same size engine are mechanically different. In the US an improved version of the Si tuned by Honda tuner Mugen is offered featuring cosmetic alterations and changes to the suspension and exhaust system. The Acura version of the Civic not only received the design change, but also saw a new nameplate, changing from the Acura EL to the Acura CSX. In Japan starting March 2006, the Honda dealership sales channels called Honda Primo, Verno, and Clio were disbanded, and combined into one retail dealership called Honda Cars.

Hey guys , was just reading some old comments and I have a question regarding mileage , as we all know that a turbo increases engine efficiency , so does it mean that installing a turbo kit in a stock civic would increase its milage too???

No, it will just give it more power. However if the engine was much smaller and turbocharged to give a maximum output equivalent to 1.8 which is 140-hp at the moment, then the average would have increased. Like for instance what they plan to do with next Civic giving it 1.5 and adding a turbo which when engaged will give it 151-hp while in normal circumstances it will give the fuel efficiency of a 1.5

Quite the possibility. Shocks do tend to get harder with passage of time and mileage. May be the suspension bushes gotten cracked as well. Get it checked.
On a lighter note, I hope the previous owner didn't somehow possibly manage to get Accord shocks like your brake calipers.... Lolz

8th gen might provide you loss as well but not that like of a new car. Also this car has very strong feeling about it, Superb grip at highways, City driving at times can be pain, well particularly with coilovers and rushy traffic, The looks are to droll over, Exterior/Interior designing both are superb, Braking is very good.

Well yes keeping and owning both at a parallel time was a perfect comparison. The heart broken after 8th Gen ended has now been healed after launch of 10th Gen. Name: ImageUploadedByPW Forums1443021166.730297.jpg

great info (2 thumbs up) btw have u driven a 9th gen civic for couple of days any experience regarding it ? as according to my experience and ownership of 9th gen it sways from back side on long routes (its tail happy) , (zero road feel due to eps) , not feeling confident while driving on curves hence found its road grip lacking and not up to mark so don't want these things in next car while reading this fan club am pretty confident that i will get real driving pleasure this time finally will share my experience once i get my hands on one after eid inshALLAH

    EDIT:
10th gen looks very interesting will think about it once it lands in our homeland until then 8th gen it is
