agreed ac performance on new corolla is very good .Altis has very good ac but according to me civic ac is much powerful .

Many Congratulations.... very nice car, comes with reputed Honda reliability.

IMHO I love the way they have designed the interior, just not so keen on the exterior.

    All the best.

M literally surprised to read this. many including myself have felt the a/c of the previous Corolla is much better than the current one. point three of this means two ov that. i mean you have to switch it on a level ahead in the current shape compared to the previous one. rozzzzz is another guy i can vouch for who felt the same.

Civic A/C definitely has more blow compared to Corolla but let me tell you that during peak summers, A/C of my brand new civic gave up on me. Even at full speed, cooling wasn't there. Mind you at that time my car was only 3 months old. Point is that in summers in Pakistan, if you want your A/C to work, get tints or otherwise dont expect any cooling in either civic or corolla

does the nav system have vioce navigation? like a voice tells u when to turn left or right n after how much distance if u have set a destination. OR do u have to keep lookin at it visually? plus is there a coordinates display as well? ETA? and can u give it exact coordinates for a certain route? or do u have to giv it names only?

Yeah nav system have voice navigation. Voice guide you about turn left or turn right etc.
Distance is also displays with estimated time to destination. You can add coordinates for marking or favorite your coordinates.

    Thumbs up

But other than the navigation... the most useful function is to connect iPod or Bluetooth devices for listening music.

    @rizwan400:
So you have had your Civic for almost a month. Can you comment on its fuel consumption? Also, what is your opinion about the stock 15" EuroStar tires. I mean, do you feel anything at somewhat higher speeds (let's say 130km/h-ish) and is there any noise?

Btw, if it is any consolation, you can still use your Prosmatec transmission along the lines of a Tiptronic transmission. You can upshift from 1 -> 2 -> D3 -> D if you ever want to experience the joys of manual transmission again. I am not sure if you can do that while downshifting as well or if it'll be safe to downshift that way (your rev meter might go into the red zone). The upshifting is pretty safe, imo.

Altis fuel average is better than civic for sure... Difference is 2 Km / liter

Also, what is your opinion about the stock 15" EuroStar tires. I mean, do you feel anything at somewhat higher speeds (let's say 130km/h-ish) and is there any noise?

No any extera oradinary noise i already experience in my Altis (2010) and Gli (2009) not bad for normal use even on motorway @ 140 km. but yokohama DB or Nitto is better. You can experience less noise @ high speed.

Btw, if it is any consolation, you can still use your Prosmatec transmission along the lines of a Tiptronic transmission. You can upshift from 1 -> 2 -> D3 -> D if you ever want to experience the joys of manual transmission again. You cant shift up or down like triptronic. however you can switch between D2 , D3 & D without push the shift switch. But its not the way you drive shifting between 2 , 3 and 5 speed transmission.

Shouldn't do this as it puts unnecessary strain on the transmission. Triptronic transmission is there for a reason. Secondly, you can never make it work like a triptronic. Technical reasons aside, even the feel is completely different. In the corolla, like all cars with triptronic, a slight nudge is all thats needed and its completely sound less, unlike shifting between 1-2-D3 in civic

This is a direct quote from Civic 1.8 with AT's manual:

"By upshifting and downshifting through 1, 2, D3, and D, you can operate the transmission much like a manual transmission without a clutch pedal."

I was myself surprised when I read this. If the above is endorsed by Honda, I am sure enabling or implementing Tiptronic/Manumatic transmission on a PT Civic shouldn't be too difficult. Again, problem arises with downshifting when extra care has to be taken to make sure the tachometer doesn't go past the redline. This can be achieved by a rev-limiter neatly integrated into the Transmission Control Module.
