Just today I took my car for 5000km checkup. They checked the whole undercarriage and tightened the nuts and bolts.

Iam Driving normally and iam using Havoline. Didnt went for Honda Lubricants as i donnot trust their quality aswell.
The weird thing is they were like you have used non-Honda lubricant so your warranty is void now. After series of heated arguements they finally gave up and everything went according to me.

Iam talking about Honda City Sales, Kalima Chowk.
From cheap eurostars to missing trunk light in City, I used all my PakWheels knowledge to bust their butts and they were totally blank.

That sounds exactly like how a lot of dealership staff (Honda or not) behaves. They have this holier-than-thou attitude and take every customer for an idiot. I am also planning on bypassing Honda's "genuine" engine oil as soon as I get my car. Besides, their recommended oil is probably something from Chevron Pakistan repackaged with Honda's labeling on it. I'll be happy to bust their b*alls when they make an issue out of it.

As a owner of both Altis Cruisetronic and Vti Oriel Prosmatec I can confirm that Altis gives 1-2km/ltr better mileage

The case in question involves the comparison between an Altis MT and a Civic MT. If my memory serves me right, an Altis Crusitronic comes with an i-CVT transmission which for all practical purposes wastes lesser energy when compared to a conventional AT.

Quite incorrect. It comes with a standard 4 speed A/T.

My family has been a honda user since the seventh gen came. But i do have the experience of driving corolla. I totally agree with airomerix, Honda's real driving pleasure is in driving it by yourself where as corolla's driving pleasure is the other way round.
As for the mileage comparison between altis and civic.. A difference of 1-2km/litr doesnt make a difference when you have already paid Rs. 2.0 million

    Thumbs down

Too bad, you people start Honda / Toyota battle.... It look like you people are the share holders of Honda or Toyota. 2 Pages waste for useless comments. I beg you all to dont waste your time in useless discussion.

We spend on our vehicle for our own........... Please dont waste other pakwheller time who are looking for some information or secrching for some postive discussion.

    Its stright and simple that

    ALTIS:

good fuel average. (only 1/2 km per liter)
    Cruise control
    Switchtronic / Triptronic
    Leather seats
    Wooden interior
    Fuel average meter
    Rear LED lights
    Electric power steering

    CIVIC:

    Navigation with good sound quality
    High tech interior and gauges
Better sound proof cabin than ALTIS
    Seat height control
    Best resale in its class

    BUT:

Every car of Corolla have same shape (XLI, GLI , ALTIS or ALTIS SR)
No DVD or Navigation (China after market navigation is crap and very poor sound)
    Poor resale value

Comfort and Drive = Both same

Guys, I intended to have the discussion comparing an Altis MT with a Civic MT purely from a philosophical point of view. I am a proud owner of a Toyota, a Honda and (in the past) a Suzuki. I like to call a spade a spade.

Frankly, like @saadleo, @airomerix have already pointed out, the Civic is a very driver-centric car -- it's like having your own personal Cessna. It is a pure driving pleasure, from the futuristic design of the cockpit to the double-wishbone suspension on the rear wheels. And of course, there is the sportier-on-demand i-VTEC engine, but I won't go into that right now. The DBW in a Civic has a much shorter lag (in my opinion) when compared to the electronic throttle of an Altis. Similarly, an Altis has its own set of advantages over a Civic which people have debated in this thread and others (e.g. softer/more comfortable rear suspension, and less cramped back seat among others). And according to @mani1, an Altis Cruisetronic is more fuel efficient than a Civic PT (by 2 or so km/l).

But what interests me personally is: how does an Altis MT fare when compared to a Civic MT in terms of fuel consumption?

I will change the tyre but not rims and hopefully go for Yokohama DB. I like the civic rim design.
