    not have my own experience but two year back one of my uncle bought engine for 98 vti that was rs 35,000 old one was also give to that mechanic.........dont know about how much now a days

    it wud be better if u state the purpose of doing this swap.either u want better performance from it or just swapping due to a messed up current engine. btw, for both cases, d15b vtec wud be the best engine to swap it.it will be fitted without any alterations, complete swap will cost around 60000rs...

    mind telling its a VTI or EXI ? whats the problem with the existing engine

    Honda 1500 cc vtec japanese engines are available here at Bilal Gunj. My friend got his 96 vti's engine changed from there. The main engine block cost him 25000 with the old engine. Complete engines are also available but they r useless (as told by the shop owner there) because of the wiring, censors and ecu compatibility problems.

    Dear if you are up to swap i would rather suggest u to go for a more powerfull engine... Go for b16b complete or go for b20 as i may self is planning to switch to one of them....AS told by my mech they will fit on orignal mounts b20 complete is avaliable in bilal gunj around 100k with your old engine....

    ^^you mention performance motor ain't you.....!!
    he don't look much interested in knowing but some how a 2 stage or 3 stage JDM d15b will be the best for him...

    Considering ur car is VTI. For a daily runner I would suggest a JDM D15B single vtec motor, dont go for 3 stage vtec unless u buy compatible ecu/wiring for that coz it has 2 separate wires for both vtec solenoids. The head and assembly would cost u around 28-30k in mithu ka ahata and 3000-3500 swap charges.

    its vti.few days ago its gasket was blowup due to heat up.i change the gaskit but its 3 head studs was sliped i used the over size stud joint the engen last Sunday my causen take the care and drive 40 km with empty radiator again same problem then i chand the gasket and radiator.after one day its third plug shat due to oil.i take it to macanic he mount a washel and fix the ne plug an sugess that is ring is out of order .if it start oil consuming we should change the engen cz overhauling wodent work.now its consuming the engen oil.that y i want to change the engen.

    I repeat DO NOT REBUILD and waste money like i did!
    DO NOT let anyone touch the wiring and the ECU. let it stay genuine

    D1bB 3 stage VTEC block will swap with original wiring and ECU remaining the same.
    But try to search for D16Z6 engine........i was lucky to find one and with very good compression and pick up
    Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

    ^^ In that case you can find any sort of single VTEC block and head, put in your old inlet manifold and distributor and it should work. The only big difference is the missing crankshaft fluctuation sensor which is about 10 minutes worth of time to fix.
