Don't like it. The 8th gen is much better looking. They've turned this into another City, and fact is I still haven't been able to completely digest how the new City looks.

And I don't like the interior either. Maybe its the color scheme or maybe its the picture, but the 8th gen Civic's interiors looks much better. And yeah, Civic's production in Japan has stopped so let's see what becomes of that.

This is my personal opinion. I'm sure the car would look much better in reality just like the 8th gen did.

the passenger is more free to move in the car as compared to the driver, agreed?
so might be that Honda engineers wanted the driver to concentrate more on the driving rather than trying to leap over, and fiddle with the buttons, that is why they oriented everything towards him, rather than away from him, to give him a feel that everything is in his control including the driving and on road concentration.
    just my perspective.

and why would the passenger feel awkward?
do you feel awkward when you cant see the temperature guage towards you?

By looks of these pictures the car isn't much appealing. Let's see what it comes out in real time.
Almost everyone in Pakistan is doing corruption to the extent they can. Our leaders are doing at the level they can do. So why should we complain?

Clearly you haven't seen the real pictures of this car. The ground clearance is fine. And you probably don't know this but the pictures above are CG renditions of the car, not actual pictures-- they got the ground clearance wrong, you can read about it at the TOV. The ground clearance is almost the same a the 8G from the actual pictures of the car.

Same old R18 with some improvements, namely fuel economy. Power is the same, which is fine because the car's curb weight hasn't changed much at all.

The 5M/T has also been dropped, the car will only see a 5 A/T...

    Thats pretty smart of them.

But 5 M/T thing is alarming is it? Considering the manual buyers will be paralysed in case they fall in love with it.

just got the news on the engines spec:

Under the hood, four different engines will be offered. The mainstream models are outfitted with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 140 hp (104 kW / 142 PS) which allows it to return an estimated 39 mpg highway. Likewise, the Civic HF (High Efficiency) also uses the 1.8-liter engine, but aerodynamic tweaks help to give it an extra 2 mpg highway.

For even more efficiency, the Civic Hybrid has a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine and a small electric motor that is powered by lithium-ion batteries. Performance specifications haven't been announced, but Honda expects the car will have a combined efficiency rating of 45 mpg which is a 4 mpg improvement over the current model.

On the other hand, the Civic Si uses a 2.4-liter engine with 200 hp (149 kW / 203 PS) and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a new 6-speed manual transmission, which enables the Si to return an estimated 31 mpg highway
My lugnuts require more torque than your Vtec can put out...
