Do thieves use keys to start the car or they use the "hot wire" technique? How can the Immobilizer guarantee anti-theft?
Yes a road side key maker cannot provide you with a working key for your 8th Gen Civic
Hot wire technique will result the same, your car will be disabled electronically!
Civic 8th Gen has a 5th Generation immobolizer. Its very hard to bypass without the required tools which normally are not available.

Even Accord Cl-9 has 4th Generation immobolizer.

Khurram bhai, one thing is for sure, the responses by our dear brothers are very valid too. Had it just been the Push Start without the key, it would of made sense but "Pehle Chaabee Phir Baqee"?? That 10K can find itself contributing to a body kit. (Oh No!! Not Again, The Hulk Attack, I'm transforming into one.......)

Thats bad. Real bad. But tell me is there any way these side mirrors could be locked in place while folded particularly for anti-theft as in the case of wheel or rim locks.

I dont think so. After that incident we stopped taking our cars to such areas where she was prone to any theft attempt etc.
    Thats all we can do.
