the above pics were a demo! i replaced it with this one

i needed this mod as Cruisematec's cluster was imported from the US and it had the function of toggling between MPH/KMPH but no button for this. the default units are MPH so if u remove the bty then u have to press the MPH/KMPH button to get the KMs. DIYed a small button which used to do this but then a freind was coming from the US so told him to bring this and complete the mod! hence just replaced the unit with PKDM' s shown in the 1st pic. bolt on fitting. just remove two screws and fit this one.all functions incl MPH/KMPH work great!!!

the easier option would have been to get a pair of new Neo Wedge 4.2 (thats what they are called !) from Honda. But then im Zunny! either ill fix the thing or screw it! i did a bit of both with this 1 lolz. so started disassembling the bulb. this is how its dismantled

as you can see it consists of 3 parts, the housing, the bulb and the blue rubber cover. this blue cover is very imp and dont loose or break it. as the bulb color is yellow and if this is not there then the light visible would be the ugly yellow 1 we used to see in old cars. this was a cheap way to change the bulb colour. i went to the local market and was unable to find the bulb. then the KEERA!!! lolzz thought why not to install an LED!! so got myself LEDs @ Rs 2/LED and fitted it into the housing! fitted the LED in reverse order to the way i dismantled the bulb. it was a perfect fit!! then installd it and DOUUSH the LED fused the moment i turned on the parking lights. asked the shopkeeper how many volts it was and came to know 1.5 V lolz. how silly why didnt i ask this thing before doing so. the option left was to install a resistance with the LED . but as theres no space to fit 1 here so abandoned the proj. a colleague was on leave and told him to get the whole thing from Lahore. he coudnt find the housing but did bring new bulbs!! installed the bulbs and bibgo they worked! so it costed me Rs 200 for the bulbs and fit em myself and got by bulbs back on! cheap DIY . i dont know how much Honda charges for these NEO WEDGE 4.2s? still replcing the bulbs is much cheaper and was fun!! heres the end result:

A tip to remove the blue cover. with the passage of time heat from the bulbs make the blue rubber cover to stick to the bulb. i ripped one while taking it off. first remove the bulb and then carefully remove the cover. if u try it while the bulb is in the brown housing then its more likely you will damage the cover and im damn sure it wont be easy getting hold of one. you will have to buy the complete bulb and its housing from Honda and i presume it would cost around 300-500 a bulb and that too from Honda. any Queries just shoot em here!! (less PJamula Sir plz dont shoot me!!. i know you wanted one and tried sourcing another but couldnt get 2. will try to get you one when someone's on the way to Pakistan)

Why the heck Honda has removed this SEL/RESET button in 9th Civic...Screw their Cost Cutting efforts

@zunny; no sir jee; I drive it the way it should be driven Overall I am happy with Civic M/T fuel figures...Further I try to avoid rush hours, luckily my son dont mind if I pick him 20/30min late and drop him 20/30min earlier
