Yar that is an awesome rate. But do confirm with Khurram because he is also in touch with some authorized dealer of Rockmars. Because I got for 26k with installation.

Default Rockmars - TPMS + OBD

Went to Lahore yesterday; was not feeling well in morning; but had to attend a business lunch + meeting. On my way back visited Rockmars dealer; they are basically "general service centre" who provides service/repair services of many brands including Rockmars. The front desk staff didnt had any know how; then by chance met their tech. engg. who repairs Rockmars unit. He told that TPMS and OBD etc in Rockmars dont work at all. Its just in the "Operating System" (unlike Windows; Windows CE allows OEM vendors to custom build the operating system; some chinese company must have made such special build generic for different units) and required hardware for TPMS or OBD connectivity is not available for Rockmars!

He also mentioned that Rockmars NAV unit is better as it searches and uses all the available satellites unlike unit being given by Atlas; which just settle down to the minimum required satellites and didnt continue to search more satellites. It might be a biased opinion They dont sell single unit or provide installation services; he suggested few good shops from where to get the Rockmars installed. But as I was not feeling well; I preferred coming back to hometown in day timings.

I read often in this forum that Civic is not comfy comparing to Corolla...I think otherwise; its suspension might not be as good as Corolla; but its A/C is chiller; as long as you are driving on good roads; Civic is much comfy than Corolla. My yesterday traveling was all in sunshine but I didnt felt tired at all; I never needed a brake...no tints; just the OEM windscreen greenish tint (which I liked a lot yesterday). The car' engine is powerful; by the time you start feeling you are driving fast; you are already @ 150+; I mean its not threatening expereince even at this high speed! The fuel consumption of the trip was good too. About 40% tank consumed. It behaved more descently on fuel when driven consciously @ 3k RPM (~115Kmps)

Civic' steering is different than City's. City's steering looks (almost) same but its plasticy...Dont know much about the difference between 2007 Civic and these new one. Drove Civic 2007 few months back and I think steering is still the same.

Thats what I thought as how can a steering quality be changed enormously with newer models. Though it happens but Honda?

You can see its grip is very solid and it doesnt feel plasicity where as new one feels. Also the portion is black before and now its silver with the decrease in quality

my father worked for Ford UK n he told me that he rememberes when car emblems used to be put on with screws later on Ford started using double tape in order to save a couple of labourers. Small little savings add up to the companies net profits. As far as the stats speak. Honda Atlas is going in loss despite price inc. yes LOSS. N at 1 juncture it was on the cards to stop production in Pakistan. Only Indus is making good profit. paksuzuki was just keeping at par with expenses n barely making profit (summary of last financial yrs reports 2009/2010) though all companies were making profit on pretax sales. After taxes then....... If im not wrong atlas was posing a 6 or 60 million rupee loss after tax.

Okay guys I have to differ on this steering thing. Just came back from a friend's place who owns a Civic 2008. The steering quality is exactly the same. As for the garnish/hood around the three spokes which was previously black and now silver, again, that is MADE IN JAPAN. Yes, MADE IN JAPAN. As for the steering grip being solid previously is I think a myth, like i said, they are identical with the same build and feel.

Thats very understandable but there are areas and categories where the thresholds remain the same or are upped a notch or two. Like the Ford example you gave, I think most modern cars even the very expensive ones are doing away with the screws due to certain reasons and not just the cost factor. This aspect for example in the name of advancement or improvement has saved the company some bucks and its the company's right to do so, BUT, without compromise on quality. I agree that the CD Changer used to be Japanese or whatever but it was introduced in 2006 in Oriels whereas at that time the VTi was equipped with cassette player initially (if I'm not wrong) then replaced with CD/MP3 player. Honestly the Sat Nav gives you more features than a CD-changer irrespective of it being MADE IN CHINA.

Yawar, I discussed this item with few members earlier but some of them didn't recommend it for these reasons:
    1. They don't last long on Viper's skin.
    2. When removed they will leave visible scars on Viper.

Though there is a clear utility in the following sense:
    1. Stops rain even if the windows rolled down an inch or so.
    2. In summers the gap between rolled-down window and door is concealed

But my experience in the XLi, GLi was that they make noise at higher speeds such as the motorway ad don't necessarily improve the aerodynamics. I think such extensions would add to protrusions in the aerodynamics of Viper, I may be wrong though. But lets discuss it further.
