    Default My Purchases

After my Sony Cybershot W-50 (6 MP) served me for 7 straight years without a glitch, it fell from the hands of one of my daughters and started developing some problems. Sent it to Sony Service Center who promised me to fix it right and after that it will be passed on to my eldest daughter.
Today I got me a Sony Cybershot DSC-WX7 (16.2 MP) and a 4GB Mini Sized Sony USB Stick for Viper project. Enjoy HD Photos and Videos from now on dear friends.

Default DIY: Trunk Lid Insulation (Progress)

So heres the thing. I'm planning to use mainly these things. Total cost of the insulation is estimated to be approximately Rs.2500/-. The standard and quality will be closest to the real thing as much as possible, Insha Allah.

The Yellow Rectangle denotes the area which underneath contains foam/styrofaom/thermopol type material. It is tapered at the top and the central portion contains the un-tapered material. The outer portion of the insulation as you can see is a carpeted sort of material. Both the materials have been illustrated in the above post. The materials being used are very well tested for sound dampening, water-resistance and heat absorption. The foam can be purchased with lesser width as well. In the picture is just a sample.

    New Stuff2011 Civic VTi &quotVIPER" -241231

The lower portion as depicted in this rectangle contains no foam and only the liner (illustrated in the above post) is held to the actual trunk lid with clips.

    New Stuff2011 Civic VTi &quotVIPER" -241233

The hinges in this picture are covered with factory made garnish. Circular foam MAY be able to do the job instead but then the foam/liner insulation will not be moulded to cover half the hinges as shown. So any ideas will be more than welcome before I go ahead with this one.

im liking it! Okay bro some ideas. First get a big sheet of paper or plastic and a non permanent markerdraw the outline on it. Then cut it. This will give u the shape of the trunk. Cut the jumble on. For the hinges why not use the black foam usually used for covering pipes if the plastics cant be made?what say?

Yeah, I'm doing that. I've screwed the craftsman's brain already reminding him not to compromise on quality and perfection. He has also asked me to come over today for some other material too. The Diamond Jumbolon is best for the reason that it absorbs heat, noise and is waterproof.

is there a product that can make things a bit hard or rigid?coz like we soak paper pieces n put em on a ball, when it dries it retains its shape in other words a FARMA (local lingo). so that u may spray on it n it'll get hard n retain the shape according to the contours of the boot.this wil give it a neat n tucked in shape n would be easy to put in the flies (MAKHIYAAN)!

    Nice purchase!

I want to upgrade my home video camera from casette based to these new digital one. Is there any Digital Video Camera; which has Standard Video/Audio in using which I can digitize my old home VHS-C cassettes? If no; then some good PCI / USB Video card for computer?

One of the important factors involved in this DIY that the insulation should be removable without leaving some ugly, non-removeable marks behind. Spraying on may become permanent. What I'm trying to do is unlike that simple "namda" thing that hardly sustains heat for few months and then becomes prone to bends thereby losing shape and in a way becomes susceptible to water absorbtion too. The DIY is meant to follow the same contours with lesser weight.

Lolz, man why do guys get to see and taste all the good foreign stuff. That means you didn't post the pic but you do have it somewhere and can be shown on public demand.
This thread is becoming a "Tharkee Zone" lolz.

Guys I'm really sorry for not speeding up on the trunk insulation and more due to paucity of time these days. I hope you will bear with me for another few days before we speed things up. Thanks

its a perk of having a world class education.
but i still like the rides tastefully done in pakistan.
people here do not care too much about cars as they are considered as disposable item.
and this is true every thing is disposable here.
