Default Honda Civic Fuel Pump Problem...

I have civic 90, the problem is when i convert it on patrol, it runs few meters and then stops as if fuel is not coming, i got it checked with different mechanics, some said, its cng conversion problem but after even after changing the switch, prob remained same, some said its fuel tank n lines blockage so i got it cleaned n replaced lines, now mechanics are saying its due to fuel pump problem, replace it with japanese pump not chinese.

i m going 2 replace it today, should i buy new one or used? any price idea? what about electronic fuel pumps, is it more effective?

If the fuel does not reach the engine then it is the fuel problem. Go to mechanic and ask him to check the blockage by sucking through the fuel pipe if the fuel is well flowing the problem is with pump, manual pumps have limited life and due to continuous operation even if you are driving on CNG they get damaged and loss their ability to suck. Electronic pumps on the other hand are very effective they suck the oil effectively as soon as you convert on petrol. I recommend e-fuel pump. And if you can find a good used e-pump dont buy a new one. It should cost you around 1000-1500.

brother no matter what fuel pump you replace if the tank has rust in it every fuel pump will get blocked. Check your tank for rust if it has rust then get it cleaned. You can do it by taking it out from the car and get it cleaned by cutting the top otherwise what ever u do it wont work.

before cutting make sure it is because of rust opening the fuel pump and checking the fuel tank filter will show is it has rust or not

I got it done for my civic 97 and when i cleaned the tank the problem was solved

    regards,
