    Default Civic 8gen tuneup

Guys i am getting 7.5Kms/L in my 2008 civic prosmatec.

I called Honda 3s today and they said the best this car gives is 8.5Kms/L so if you are getting 7.5 you should be satisfied but still bring your car for tuneup for which we will charge you 600.

now i need to know is it worth opening up the spark plugs for inspection at 25000 on the ODO.

& what other things should i check. thinking of replacing air filter, though its not very clogged but think of getting new1.

recommend other areas / points for tuneup.

My driving is preety decent - changing gears @ 2 - 3 RPM. but my everyday route got lots of stop & go.

I think only thing you need to do is to replace oil and air filter as per the book. Tire pressure could be another factor. An air filter will not be clogged visibly but after every 10k km it should be replaced. Use a genuine one.

+1 esp the first bit, and in addition tot he points above just use good fuel, no need to experiment otherwise with anything.

Have you changed the stock rims/tires to alloys? Whats the size & profile, since bigger alloys/tire size affects your average...

a tuneup will do little to none (effecting the mileage)
    you need to
    -change ur fuel station
    -change ur driving pattern
    -change ur petrol/hi octane ratio
    -change your routes
    -keep regular maintenance tip top
-good air pressure in tires + tires balanced and alligned.
    -clean fuel pump/filter
    etc,

P.S try the shell pump which is located near pidc before i.i chundrigar road u will not regret it i can assure u that ,
