    Default Civic 8gen tuneup

Guys i am getting 7.5Kms/L in my 2008 civic prosmatec.

I called Honda 3s today and they said the best this car gives is 8.5Kms/L so if you are getting 7.5 you should be satisfied but still bring your car for tuneup for which we will charge you 600.

now i need to know is it worth opening up the spark plugs for inspection at 25000 on the ODO.

& what other things should i check. thinking of replacing air filter, though its not very clogged but think of getting new1.

recommend other areas / points for tuneup.

    +1

Do not believe anyone who claims 9km/ltr+ on a pros. I do not know how the throttle is set on a civic but its not electronic do not bother with the tuning as the mechanics will mess up the setting

i have 2009 oriel manual.. My car has 17 In rims and wider tyres.

i get 7-13 Km/l on M2.. depending upon How sane or insane the driving style is.

In city.. it varies from 7-9.5 Km.. again depending upon the driving style and how much u hav to stay stationary.

^ i just did it once to check max cruise range. The speed was under 100kmph,v soft throttle as gears would change at 2000 rpm. Tyre pressure 32psi. Half journey only 1 person i.e me the driver. Route was kharian to islamabad airport n back twice plus some plying between jhelen n kharian all on GT road. Normal driving i get between 450-500 kms with a mix of local n highway driving. As civic is hy on petrol in local driving, ive limited mine to highway driving most of the time n use alto on CNG for local!

@all Look closely when did i say i had a civic reborn? i was just quoting my car's (vitz 2nd gen) average to compare the petrol quality ...
Nitrous on your car is like a hot chick with STD's.. You wanna hit it, but you're afraid of the consequences.

am surprised still did u try a different petrol station ?
try shell marine drive clifton and let us know if any improvement.

even the honda guys say no tuneup needed because it is electronically adjusted so even if any issues like choked air filter the oxygen sensor works to adjust the fuel ratio automatically.

still you should get max 8.5 avg with AC.

Are you getting 7.5 with AC 100% on or... ?
Did you use LX treatment to improve fuel combustion % ?
