    Default Honda Civic 97 Vti 1600 EFI engine heatup problem

    Dear Friends
    I've Honda civic Vti 97 model 1600 EFI engine......... the problem is that car is perfectly fine without AC but when i use AC and accelerate it, It starts to heat up........ I've already checked the rediator, cleaned the old one than replaced it to new rediator which has aluminium Bars but problem is still there........... The main reason of my confusion is that it doesnt take heat without AC even i went on 160-170 KM speed on motorway. I went to nathia gali and other hill stations but car didnt take heat..... It only heats up when i accelerate the car with AC even i turned on AC while i was standing in parking for 30 min approx but it didnt rise the heat gage but as i started to drive it and speed it up,,, the heat gage started to rise...........
    Some of mechanic told me that there can be issue with AC unit which is putting load on engine so i replaced the compressor as it was already not working well... i also cleaned the condensor but problem is still there.....
    So kindly advise me about this issue and i'll be greatful if someone can tell me the rates of gass kit and head face charges as well as i want to replace the clutch plate and pressure plate so if anyone can tell me the price of clutch plate and pressure plate.

    di u ever get ur radiator fan ?? i mean is it giving the same speed as it depreciate by the passage of time /... may be ..

    Yaar fan is direct and running all the time and its a big fan which has 5 wings and its running on full speed

    And in my car... there are 3 fans installed 1 for rediator and 2 for AC condensor.......... 2 fans are inside the engine compartment and 1 fan is installed from outside on AC condensor which is paralol to rediator fan..........

    aur mazay ki baat yeh hai k meri car 1 qatra pani kam nahee karti otherwise jin cars main heat up issue hota hai woh pani kam karti hain........ its another reason of my confusion :-(

    Aoa.. brother rate of complete clutch pressureplate is 8300 and also check clutch bearing which is 1100 rupees.. this is orignal clutch rate..(FCC) company.. and my sugguestion that u plz change ur head assembly.. becoz putting gaskits facing the head wont completely solve ur problem... regards..

    and yes check that ur car starts after u turned it off???

    thanx dear for the rates........ as far as starting is concerned, its trouble free. its first self start car even AC is on......... I checked it.... it didnt show any problem on repeatedly and contineous starting

    somebody told me that clutch plate and pressure plate set is around 5500

    but sir if the car goes heatup then it wont start immediately when u turned off the engine.. and i give u the rate of original clutch plate.. the 5500 ones may be Kabli or may b chinese ..becz there are 2 3 qualities.. thankx

    by the way clutch plate is not the immidiate issue....... my main issue is heat up..... and if you read all the symptoms, these are quite confusing like 1)water level is always same,
    2) no heat up in rush
    3) no heat up on high speed without AC
    4) no heatup on hilly areas and steap slops while you dirive it in low gears contineously
    5) no heatup while car is parked and AC is on
    6) No heatup with soft paddle..... I mean halkay pair par chalany par heatup nahee hoti
    But it only starts heating up while you give race aur gear khench kar lago

    hmmm brother these models have strange types of problem .. that is when ur car goes heatup, your temperature gauge still remains on middle. (meri gari main to aik he jaga rhti thi) except when water decreases or any radiator issues then gauge goes up.... (i might b wrong) but my car condition was same as this when heated up...

    Is the thermostat valve missing in your engine? and have you checked that the water pump is actually good and is circulating coolant.

    i am also having the same problem in my civic but it resolved by putting Osaka Coolant and while moving with AC gauge remains in but down from middle i will post the pics no radiator change no fan change but fan is direct.

    It might be ur faulty ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature)Honda Civic 97 Vti 1600 EFI engine heatup problem -263028 Honda Civic 97 Vti 1600 EFI engine heatup problem -263029

    Do check it it may be grounded from somewhere and also check the Sensor which is on the thermostat valve...

    and then share the problem if it exists

    Check the crank pulley(Harmonic balancer),it might be defective.Its outer ring gets slipped on load,causing drop in water circulation pressure,which results in over heating.

    Dear Xulifiqar, you r right.... there iznt Tharmostat valve in my car's engine.... and as far as coolant is concerned it was drained out when i installed new radiator and i didnt fill it with coolant coz rediator was opened twice or thrice... so now it has no coolant but simple water.... water body and water circulation is perfect cuz i saw frequent water circulation in rediator when i changed it.,... now tell me one thing if i add coolant to rediator, how much bottles shud i add to water or shud i use pure coolent in rediator?

    Dear,... Fan is direct in my car but there isnt thermostat valve in my car......... I guess the last owner of my car has removed it to let the engine cool.... and somebody who knows the previous owner told me that this car was heatedup by the previous owner and that was the main reason for what he sold the car......... but let me tell you that new engine was replaced last year when car was in posession of last owner and after that he heatedup the car... but i guess as engine was new (Qabli) thatz y engine is not creating that much problem but still im not sure about anything

    1 of the two worst things of 96-00 models,
    over heating and suspension bushes
    sucks!

    the aluminium head of this model is super sensitive. if replacing gasket and facing works for few other eventually have to change the head.
    and dont swap with a D15 head. the timings wont match
    Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....
