Default Honda Civic 7th Gen. Fan Club

I tried searching Pakwheels.Com for a 'Honda Civic 7th Gen. Fan Club' thread but my search returned no results therefore i thought of making a new thread regarding this. Here is some information taken off Wikipedia regarding the Honda Civic 7th Generation:

The seventh generation of the Honda Civic was released in September 2000 as 2001 model. Compared to its predecessor, it retained similar exterior dimensions, but increased significantly in interior space thus bumping up Civic to a compact car size segment. There was a flat rear floor, giving better comfort to the rear seat passengers. This generation abandoned the front double wishbone suspension, which had been used in the fourth to sixth generations, replacing it with MacPherson strut.
A 115 hp (86 kW) engine powered all Civics (except EX and Si), up 9 hp (7 kW) from the previous model. Power in the EX remained at 127 hp (95 kW), and all non-Si engines were stroked to 1.7 liters.

In 2003, the Civic was given new tail lights which created a circle when illuminated. For 2004, the Civic was given a facelifted front end with new headlights, bumper, and grille; it also received side skirts. In 2005 the U.S Honda introduced the Special Edition. It was available in LX or EX Special Edition.

The hybrid version arrived at North America in spring 2002.[1] It used both a small 1.3 L I4 main gasoline engine and auxiliary electric motors, producing a combined 93 hp. The electric motors are powered by a battery array which is charged by regenerative braking during deceleration, thus reducing exhaust emissions and extending fuel mileage to 46 mpg city / 51 mpg highway with the manual transmission according to EPA fuel mileage estimates.[2]

Guys just posting here maybe it can help someone
So i changed the Manual Gear OIL of my civic 2002 VTI
I bought Gear oil (Honda OEM) from Mehran Autos saddar (They have original).
Price was around 1L=870RS and about 2L was poured into my Manual gearbox. The old gear oil that was taken out after around 144k KM( I am not sure if old owner changed gear oil or not it is my assumption) .OIl was very thin but the color was ok still i changed it. No issue yet with my car Allah ka shukr. Gear changing is same i think maybe a little bit better. I hope after some usage it gets much better. Thanks
and yes i changed the belts too they were over i got Japanse belt (OEM were not available of such old model) and they costed total rs 1000 (Alternator belt+AC belt)

New oil is thick, and color won't change much like engine oil because it runs in gearbox only. You won't feel the gear exceptionally smooth but changing gear oil on time means increasing the gearbox life.

Where did you get the labor work done? how was it?

There is a mechanic near Bahria town. Just after Bahria 1-6 gate on left side. He said he worked in Toyota and Honda but left them and now working on his own business. Total he charged was Rs 800 for some works that included gear oil change and belts changing. I am satisfied by work it's near my home and the mechanic is good and knows what's he doing

I was previously using 10w30 and this time started using 10w40. Haven't noticed any change in consumption... 11km to 8.7 is a huge difference. Did you fill the petrol from same pump? are you calculating it correctly? Try one more tank from some other good repo pump just to be sure. Any change in driving patterns, road conditions etc?

which oil did you use btw

I used the shell oil. And the guy at the shell said in summer 10wxx is better. Which oil you are using brand? And mileage you are getting? I drove little bit fast on this tank. I have been using the same petrol pump since I bought the car never used any other petrol pump

That's really good mileage. Can you share which oil filter, air filter and which brand of engine oil you are using? And is this mileage with full time AC?

    11-12 expressway drive.

I was previously using honda genuine oil. This time i went for castrol magnatec SN 10w40, the engine runs smoother now. Oil filter i have always bought from honda dealership.

I dont think an increase from 5w40 to 10w30 can cause such a mileage drop. Try one more tank before inspecting further

No,Thinner oil works great in summer too,
I'm Using Guard Oil Filter and 'Leppon' Engine oil from last 3 years. The mileage calculated is without AC,but i don't think so there will be much difference in mileage with AC on,maybe 1-1.5km lesser average thats it.

Can someone share how much does a new fuel pump costs? Thinking of changing mine for better mileage as it seems to be clogged and any idea how to check if thr cars alternator is bad? Car is EXi prosmetic and it seems to lose power when shifted from P to R with AC on. The dials go zero, display disappears and cars rpm drops below 500. Thinking of chaging battery next month along with fuel pump and may be go for a BIG 3 Upgrade with a good wire. Any suggestions are more then welcome

Anyone selling or know of anyone selling an immaculate condition 7th gen civic? Variant doesn't Matter, aiming for something below 70k km driven but if in mind blowing condition, can be considered with more miles.

So I calculated again with full tank this time. My mileage again came out around 8.5KM/L. Seems like either the oil is the cause or the filters I got from shell pump. Anyways I will get oil changed to LiquiMoly 5w40 fully synthetic after Eid. The same grade I used before this one and gave good mileage but this time will try LiquiMoly. And will use OEM Honda air and oil filter let's see if mileage gets better.. though current oil has done just 1k KM but fuel consumption is burden on my pocket..

Details: EXi Prosmatec 2001, 137k driven. Oil used from day one is Liquimoly MoS2 10w40. Filters used: Alco. Total stock.
I bought this car from someone I know around a year ago at 100k kms.
Now the position is that I'm getting 9km/l with AC in city with light/normal foot.
    1. Can anybody recommend something which makes the fuel consumption better?
    2. I just replaced my plugs to NGK G-Power BKR6EGP (Stock No. 7092) Platinum Alloy spark plugs. Is there any difference they can possibly make? Only difference I felt is a bit smooth drive. Previous ones were finished. Totally finished.
    3. What do the computer connection (some sort of tuning) actually do? From where can I get it done in Lahore? Preferably sasta. How much the Honda pit stop people charge for this?
Thanks in advance to the one who will answer by mentioning numbers 1, 2, 3 while answering.
