Default Honda Civic 7th Gen. Fan Club

I tried searching Pakwheels.Com for a 'Honda Civic 7th Gen. Fan Club' thread but my search returned no results therefore i thought of making a new thread regarding this. Here is some information taken off Wikipedia regarding the Honda Civic 7th Generation:

The seventh generation of the Honda Civic was released in September 2000 as 2001 model. Compared to its predecessor, it retained similar exterior dimensions, but increased significantly in interior space thus bumping up Civic to a compact car size segment. There was a flat rear floor, giving better comfort to the rear seat passengers. This generation abandoned the front double wishbone suspension, which had been used in the fourth to sixth generations, replacing it with MacPherson strut.
A 115 hp (86 kW) engine powered all Civics (except EX and Si), up 9 hp (7 kW) from the previous model. Power in the EX remained at 127 hp (95 kW), and all non-Si engines were stroked to 1.7 liters.

In 2003, the Civic was given new tail lights which created a circle when illuminated. For 2004, the Civic was given a facelifted front end with new headlights, bumper, and grille; it also received side skirts. In 2005 the U.S Honda introduced the Special Edition. It was available in LX or EX Special Edition.

The hybrid version arrived at North America in spring 2002.[1] It used both a small 1.3 L I4 main gasoline engine and auxiliary electric motors, producing a combined 93 hp. The electric motors are powered by a battery array which is charged by regenerative braking during deceleration, thus reducing exhaust emissions and extending fuel mileage to 46 mpg city / 51 mpg highway with the manual transmission according to EPA fuel mileage estimates.[2]

This one is semi-synthetic I believe, and the change interval of 10K would be ok taking into consideration many factors apart from the oil being used such as

    1. Any issues with the air intake which can let any dust in like cracks, loose connections, holes for CNG etc, improper sealing
    2. Original filters, both for oil and air. Guard / leppon / any other local brand or something claimed to be from thailand isn't original and isn't worth using 10K kilometers. They let in some dust plus get clogged pretty soon

Liqui moly dealers have a very recurrent supply issue, they don't have the required version of oil with the "ship rastay mein hay" being the reason quoted by most. That is why I shifted to zic once there authorized dealers were set up, otherwise LM is a pretty good choice.

Believe me, if your engine is healthy enough that it can handle 10W oil and don't throw it in smoke (dont reduce oil). Then it is best choice. Full synthetic oil. When i put it in, i felt a sudden change in performance, i was going from M1 on CNG at 145, and the car literally asked me to push more. (although that performance reduced in days because it was my first oil change to lique moli; im expecting much more performance and cleaning on next oil change).
The seller promises 10,000/- KM and says dont come before that milage. Im planning to change it at 8,000/- this time and 10K next time.

Mine were worn out even when the car was driven inside a cantt for the last 5 years which means no aggressive braking, so m guessing they wear out pretty quickly for local assembled hondas that too for an auto.

About the mileage on murree trip, injectors are mostly idle during descent on hilly areas so the combined average comes down to what u get on a highway for a complete trip.

And you don't have a 1970 datsun running mono grade SAE 50 oil, so move ahead of the 10 minute gari geram kerni hoti theory :-)
Bhai m always certain about tyres age. Even the ones i installed last year are 2015 make. Yes will arrange a meeting and discus stuff. As for 10 mins heating time, well when v bought the car it was mostly on CNG and to keep thr pump active v used to keep it on petrol for a while so the habbits havent changed till now lol.

Also. make an 'OBDII and Emissions Test'. vehicle must fail this test if some sensor or mechanism is faulty. you can visit from mechanic/electricition with honda diagnose kit (computer) and make it possible.

    Rawalpindi: Arshad Electricition Sultan Kho
Lahore: Saleem mechanic on SamanAbad new link road (nalai wala road connecting ferozpur with multan road.
Islamabad: a mechanic in G-9 behind post office or some other mechanic with scanners in G-8.

search some good mechanic or some Honda Center.
In proper way, they take out petrol pipes from injectors and put a meter on it and switch on the car to check pressure of petrol.

It was giving less then 9 km/l and was too sluggish when i took hold of it, now after much changes the ride is much nippier and a bit more fuel efficient. The last tank's avg was 10.5 km/l, anyone getting better then that ?

Things which were done in a month's time whenever I got a chance:

    1. Almost complete suspension done excluding rear bushes which were found ok
    2. Hydraulic steering removed and thrown away and replaced with EPS, since the later is available bold on while pump failure and fluid leakages are a constant issue in this model. I was most interested in removing the load of that extra belt from the engine though
    3. All brake disks and rotors changed including fluid
    4. Transmission oil changed with honda ATF
    5. CNG setup removed
    6. Tyres changed, stuck to 185/65 R15 since it came with R15 alloys
    7. Oil changed to zix xq 5w40, couldn't source a reliable oil filter at the moment so stuck to guard which at least seemed original
    8. Throttle body serviced, flimsy connections to sensors sorted out
    9. Radiator changed since last one was clogged. Water flushed, coolant added
    10. AC coil cleaned, it was badly clogged as was running without a filter. AC refrigerant topped up
    11. Alignment done as per specs given in manual
    12. Poured in a bottle of injector cleaner
    13. Some minor repairs like locks getting stuck, exhaust rubbers etc

Now it needs some attention to the exterior like misaligned bumpers and lights, and a good air filter. Any suggestions from where I can get the best one in Isl /rwp ? Most placed have guard / lippon type stuff or something claimed to be imported from thialand which does not seem any better.
what did you get the work done

161k on the odo. If the engine is in good health, then thre is no issue in using fully synthetic. I was using A+ fully synthetic since long but on last to last change tried honda genuine and repent my decision now. This time on mechanics advice used shell and still regretting. Will shift back to A+ coz i was having almost 1 km per litre better average with it
