Default Honda Civic 7th Gen. Fan Club

I tried searching Pakwheels.Com for a 'Honda Civic 7th Gen. Fan Club' thread but my search returned no results therefore i thought of making a new thread regarding this. Here is some information taken off Wikipedia regarding the Honda Civic 7th Generation:

The seventh generation of the Honda Civic was released in September 2000 as 2001 model. Compared to its predecessor, it retained similar exterior dimensions, but increased significantly in interior space thus bumping up Civic to a compact car size segment. There was a flat rear floor, giving better comfort to the rear seat passengers. This generation abandoned the front double wishbone suspension, which had been used in the fourth to sixth generations, replacing it with MacPherson strut.
A 115 hp (86 kW) engine powered all Civics (except EX and Si), up 9 hp (7 kW) from the previous model. Power in the EX remained at 127 hp (95 kW), and all non-Si engines were stroked to 1.7 liters.

In 2003, the Civic was given new tail lights which created a circle when illuminated. For 2004, the Civic was given a facelifted front end with new headlights, bumper, and grille; it also received side skirts. In 2005 the U.S Honda introduced the Special Edition. It was available in LX or EX Special Edition.

The hybrid version arrived at North America in spring 2002.[1] It used both a small 1.3 L I4 main gasoline engine and auxiliary electric motors, producing a combined 93 hp. The electric motors are powered by a battery array which is charged by regenerative braking during deceleration, thus reducing exhaust emissions and extending fuel mileage to 46 mpg city / 51 mpg highway with the manual transmission according to EPA fuel mileage estimates.[2]

I was surprised when the "experts" at the zic oil change center proudly told me that they pour 3.7 litres in all these cars, and they know better since this is what they do all the time. Well maybe the engineers who made this car need a lesson from this morons on how much oil should the motor take, since the numbers they gave were less.
Was quite a struggle convincing the oil change kernay wala scientist not to pour 3.7 liters doesn't matter what he thinks about it.

Which zic oil grade you poured ?

I poured 3.7Ltr first I told the oil guy many times he was so confident that we always pour 3.7Ltr that I thought maybe with oil filter it's this much. Later I had to get the oil removed around 200ml.

Even with 3.5litre oil will stay a little above the upper dipstick dot

Went for the Zic XQ 5W40, it was running on some caltex variant before and the engine was happier with the new oil.

Good choice. Do update us the mileage you get most of the time with this oil.

Hmm i don't think so its a good decision. I am scared, after using 5w40 since alot of time and then going with 10w40 for 2500KM and now 5w30 . I hope oil does not reduce.
You should go with 5w40 and if oil does not reduce goto 5w30!

Was checking the health of the engine, might switch to a lower viscosity on next change. My other ride which has a decade old motor is running on Zic 0W30 and is pretty happy on it :-)

I have always been using honda genuine oil 10w30 API SM (its semi synthetic i guess). Last oil change, i used castrol magnatec 10w40 API SN. I want to go for a thinner but safe oil. What do you guys recommend?

I used 5w30 Honda genuine this time. Let me complete the fuel tank I will share reviews about mileage. 5w40 is safe. 5w20 is not too safe..

That's great man. I will try Zic next time in shaa Allah if 5w30 works well and doesn't reduce. I was Little afraid to directly go from 10w40 to 5w20

    2 things:
First of all i used car for 2 years now nd drove it uptill 9-10 hours in one go nd it never ever bothered me but after i used cng for 4 months it gave 2-3 issues may be its my illusion that the issues aroused bcz of cng but now m damn scared of using cng😁😁

While on the other hand car is insanely economical on cng gives around 200km+- in 14 litre cng (600rs +-) nd when ever i pas the cng station it gets harder for me to control myself against cng usage
