    Default Honda Civic 7th Gen. Fan Club

    I tried searching Pakwheels.Com for a 'Honda Civic 7th Gen. Fan Club' thread but my search returned no results therefore i thought of making a new thread regarding this. Here is some information taken off Wikipedia regarding the Honda Civic 7th Generation:

    The seventh generation of the Honda Civic was released in September 2000 as 2001 model. Compared to its predecessor, it retained similar exterior dimensions, but increased significantly in interior space thus bumping up Civic to a compact car size segment. There was a flat rear floor, giving better comfort to the rear seat passengers. This generation abandoned the front double wishbone suspension, which had been used in the fourth to sixth generations, replacing it with MacPherson strut.
    A 115 hp (86 kW) engine powered all Civics (except EX and Si), up 9 hp (7 kW) from the previous model. Power in the EX remained at 127 hp (95 kW), and all non-Si engines were stroked to 1.7 liters.

    In 2003, the Civic was given new tail lights which created a circle when illuminated. For 2004, the Civic was given a facelifted front end with new headlights, bumper, and grille; it also received side skirts. In 2005 the U.S Honda introduced the Special Edition. It was available in LX or EX Special Edition.

    The hybrid version arrived at North America in spring 2002.[1] It used both a small 1.3 L I4 main gasoline engine and auxiliary electric motors, producing a combined 93 hp. The electric motors are powered by a battery array which is charged by regenerative braking during deceleration, thus reducing exhaust emissions and extending fuel mileage to 46 mpg city / 51 mpg highway with the manual transmission according to EPA fuel mileage estimates.[2]

    Get it scanned via ecu if possible. It shouldnt knock on normal fuel some wire must be disconnected or something

    i 'shokia' got it scanned a week back no codes..... i change rpm at 1500 nd when slam peddle it statrs knocking... could this be issue?

    It shouldnt knock, let someone else comment on this as i m driving an exi pros and nvr faced such issues. Anyone having a D17 in his car might help u better

    Knocking is only on regular fuel?

    What sort of knock is this? Does the engine hesitate a little or just knocking sound. Do you feel loss of power?

    Did electrician connected all original wirings back after removing cng? Make sure there are no loose TPS/MAP/ignition coil connector/wirings. Switching wiring to petrol and cng is quite easy, you can do it yourself and do a better job than any mechanic. It hardly takes 4 hours.

    When you removed cng, did you removed venturi? did the mechanic seal all holes on intake? Make sure there are no vacuum leaks (hissing sound near intake manifold area)

    Are you sure knock is from engine? may be one of your mounting is broken.

    Timing for cng is controlled through advancer so when you disconnect it and connect back the TPS and MAP wiring, the timing should be back on factory default.
    Timing for petrol is controlled though timing belt. When was the last time you changed it? There are marks engraved and mechanic just has to align those marks to get the factory spec timing.

    iirc tank capacity is 45litre, reserve turns on at around 6-8litres

    yes it only knocks on super its just that knocking sound (i had also faced it in several cars like vitz passo idsi) om high octane its fine.... it only knocks for few seconds when i slam pedle hard. mounts r all fine as i vot suspension **** done month back regarding cng no sensors were removed to takw it out it was plug n olay thing he just removed all stuff nd only wiring was some sort of cliped wiring ovwr injector rail hw plugged cng ones out and connected back the oem one. no power loss no nothing its just that sound which is haunting me..... bigger gear lower rpm (1000-1500) nd hard peddle makes that sound normally cars runs fine no issues

    so guys i floreed the csr hard today n discovered that it knocks only if peddle is moderately pressed if i press throtle slightly then it wont knock m if i press throttle too harshly it wont knock lekin if i press it moderately it knocks ( with lower rpm nd higher gear only... e. g it would knock if m cruising at 20kmph in fifth gear nd press pedle moderately

    This is pretty common and happens in new cars as well. My friends 2015 city knocks so bad if speed is low, gear is high and pedal is pressed.

    Do a google search "engine knock low speed high gear" for more info

    One should avoid pushing hard if rpm is low and gear is high as it can damage the engine.

    hhahah i googled it every page have their own story lol...

    m toooo lazy to shift down so i had to push hard at lower rpm higher gears specilly wheni have to slow down on highways i woild happily drive in 5th gear 1000rpm rather then shifting down..... ah! it takes too much effort

    You should avoid it. While coasting, its fine but if you have to gain speed try not to push in 4th or 5th gear if rpm is less than 1.5k. If you have to in some case, push it very gently.

    Its seriously bad for engine health. Search "engine lugging"
    The knock you hear is pre-detonation and at this time engine is going through a lot of stress internally as well as heat due to pre-detonation

    Go for auto if you are lazy

    With 10k change interval, i think it should be worth spending some xtra money plus its genuine german so hopes are high that its performance should be better then local one
