Default Civic 05, check engine light!!!

Ok i got European 05 prosmatic civic vti D17A(1.7 engine), check engine light is on, i went to honda centre rwp n after the computerized checkup they said, your car has an extra sensor which doesnt comes in pakistani civic n it needs to be replaced, i asked about sensor type n he said he has no idea since nothing comes up after the diagnostic...
now i was thinking maybe it can be O2(oxygen) due to which engine check light is on, any suggestions, where to go or what to do??

yes u are right u should check the oxygen sensor present on the exhuast manifold or you can try resetting the ecu by taking off the battery connection for a while and rechecking.

If there is some missing or more petrol is consumed than it is definitely the oxygen sensor

internet - as the Pakistani parts vendors would not have it. You can also try buying some used items and hope they work.

Isnt there a option (in the obd computer) to turn off the warning light for that particular sensor?
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

No no, i meant to skip that fault,

Once on my vitz, from somewhere under the meter cluster, some wiring was loose, due to which the ABS light would come and go on each and every bump i came across.

So i went on the OBD scanner every thing was fine, over there the guy tried to turn it off, and it went off, and then he said we cant just turn it off, as it wont show up when needed.

Then after much off a khuari, i trouble shooted it as a DIY at home and recliped it and wola

the check light is there to alert you of a fault, and cannot be rigged in the ECU to stay off, you yourself just asserted to it in the ABS problem you pointed.

its a cheapie then - you'll find one in the old market, just be sure its an NTK or NGK brand as the Bosch ones are low impedance and will set the check light again as the ECU will see a high amp draw on the heating circuit,

The O2 sensor can set up an array of codes, which one did you get. heater circuit, lean, rich??

@sherrypizza man i just said it but its not true. man i Mash Allah own a civic 2009 oriel and am damn satisfied with it... i know imported cars are alot better then our local cars but on the other hand imported spare parts are a big issue. so every one have their own opinion but i prefer the car which is new and can be diagnosed easily by 3s dealers as of busy life.

Horsepoop - all error codes are the same worldwide, That dealership has extremely stupid mechanics if they gave you this statement. get your car checked somewhere else who actually know what they are doing, dont go buy anything yet - you do not know what the problem is.
