Default Steering Volume Controls for Civic Reborn

Has anyone tried adding the steering wheel audio controls on their Civic reborn?

I'm thinking of getting this done to my car - but want to see if anyone else has gotten this done - and where.

Here's a pic of what Im talking about...from a North American model.

These things could be bought from abroad at very cheaper rates but the problem is that everyone do not have access to these places. I myself bought the complete steering with hell lots of buttons from HK and I got it at a pretty good rate.

And as mentioned earlier, Cruise Control is not plug and play. You have to go through some modifications to make it running. So, if you are sourcing the Cruise Control buttons, you should also source other components that are required or the buttons would be good for nothing.

    Thanks everybody.

Got the answers to what I need. I will have my friend order the controls and buttons via Honda Dubai and have them shipped across with the support goodies like clock springs etc for my i vtec.

I believe the cruise buttons are part of the kit but I will decide later whether to install that or not. My main thing is to have the audio controls on the wheel.

Will update everyone once I have everything hooked up

You're correct. I dont see the need for cruise control though, unless you travel a lot on the Motorway. Pretty much impossible to use it in Islamabad anymore unless its way early in the morning or late at night!

On a side note - Honda refused to install the kit at the dealership due to warranty reasons. So anyone wanting to install this once you have the equipment, will need to find a shop somewhere else.

cruise control is rarely used even in the UK on motorways as its quite crowded n u have to press the brake every now n then n its designed to disengage. However i use it at times even in Kharian Cantt n GT road for couple of hundred yards just for the sake of it to enjoy the reward of my year long hard work n research! Apart from a sashka its pretty much useless in Pakistan except on motorways as our motorways are less crowded. drove 'Cruisematec' after nearly 1.5 months. Missed my baby.! Seems so under powered after driving around in my bro's 09 BMW 325 sports with a 3.0 litre petrol motor under the hood.but after a week the 1.8 will feel like a beast after driving alto on CNG! I bought a brand new steering for her n will install it someday soon. Have to DIY the mph of the meter to kmph somehow! Lets see if i can manage it aswell INSHAALLAH!

    @ zunny:

Thats a good read. Thanks for sharing.

Opening the whole dashboard makes me a little uneasy so I will probably get it done from a proper shop to be on the safe side.

For anyone who may be interested, the factory wheel with the airbag is available on ebay for $130. Thats with the buttons but not the other back-end stuff you may need.

I'm having my wheel done after Eid - when my brother brings the kit with him so cant wait!

The button kits can be sourced from scrap markets, In karachi Sheir shah, or else, Optimum motor sports also has it.

But since you have a Vti and not the Oriel, you will have to add the clock spring as well.
