    Thumbs up (FINALLY SOLVED) Civic 99 Drinking Petrol like Sharbat

    Salam PWs
    My civic is drinking petrol like hell. does only 300 kms per tank on highway & even less in city. The petrol needle can be felt going down while driving. there is no leakage & car moves great on petrol. no problem in driving.
    On CNG it does 200kms per 55cylinder. can u tell me how to increase petrol average. i have the advancer installed and it works. no problem on driving on CNG or PETROL. plz help

    the 3 pin connector is a tap into the system to "read" data, exactly the same purpose the TE2 port in the toyota DLC does. thats what the guy did, and he did it wrong - he should have measured the CO content in the exhaust while adjusting the pot.

    it usually is set to 2.1 to 2.5 volts output to the ECU but this is quite strange that your engine was running rich on that setting - larger injectors come to mind.

    Actually i bought the car abt 6 months back. i didnt drive it regularly on petrol but only occasionally until recently, thats why i dont know that the prob was there b4 as well or not. Now i travel from hyderabad to faisalabad & vice versa. now i wanted to drive it on petrol but came to know the problem.

    Hmm I was comin back from Multan and i had to use petrol my car's timing is at 20 or more i guess so it was knocking badly on petrol still i continued with light foot and it consumed petrol like sharbat

    In City I set my timing back to default and now my car did around 13 to 14 Km local. (BTW its a EFI 5AFE 1500cc)
    Speed costs money, how fast can you afford to go.

    The timing is not the issue here, its dead ok on petrol. & for CNG, an advancer is there to kick the timings. There is no knocking, no pick problem, no jerking etc. the car flies like hell but also consume petrol like aero plane.

    Which advancer you are using?

    How much km/ltr? I too have 2000 VTI. its giving me 11kms in city with ac and 14 on hghway.

    Hmm Hard to diagnose... Last i checked my car in 600 Rs did around 98 KM.

    I also changed 3 of my fuel injectors as they were leaking. the New ones are green one and the previous one i had were yellow. Green ones are lower in CC than yellow by Denso.

    I remember we had a corolla 84 my (my Master pass) mechanic suggested after reading manuals to change its carborator jets to factory specs and i agreed..

    I remember car was doin fine but as soon as new jets installed on motorway going to sargodha that is not far from isb it consumed close to 1.5 tank and you can clearly see the needle going down...

    did you confirm part nos. of the injectors you need - look up other part nos. too most injectors are a standard size - you may find some other application injectors for your engine.

    @Xulfiqar
    The old ones were KEIHIN black tip 6MF0 & the new 1s are also KEIHIN but 1 injector is 6KA0 & rest 3 are 6JH0. Can u tell anything from these numbers.

    the problem with keihins are that their part nos. are mixed up - your best bet is to match your old and new parts.

    If the impedance is correct (12-14 ohms) then the only thing remaining is - your ECU is allowing too much fuel in or its timed really bad, your engine can be off a timing belt tooth and not give any code because both crank and cam sensors are in the distributor.
