    Thumbs up (FINALLY SOLVED) Civic 99 Drinking Petrol like Sharbat

    Salam PWs
    My civic is drinking petrol like hell. does only 300 kms per tank on highway & even less in city. The petrol needle can be felt going down while driving. there is no leakage & car moves great on petrol. no problem in driving.
    On CNG it does 200kms per 55cylinder. can u tell me how to increase petrol average. i have the advancer installed and it works. no problem on driving on CNG or PETROL. plz help

    Thanks again everyone.
    Finallly i have returned the fpr which was installed on trial basis & got my original injectors cleaned & working again.

    Sometimes INJECTIONS & INJECTORS CAN BE EQUALLY PAINFULL

    just an update
    yesterday i went to karachi & came back. covered 320 kms in half tank. out of which 170 kms were with AC on.

    Default Need Help for improve fuel efficiency

    helpful thread!!

    Guys need help for civic vti oriel pros 2005 giving max 280-300km without Ac on full tank, Driven with light foot not above 3k rpm
    wats the capacity of civic 2005 fuel tank?

    Got throttle body cleaned
    Plugs are fine (Stock)
    New Air filter

    After tuning, when the RPM goes down near idle it jumps back up again to 1.5k and then slowly come down.
    Currently tank was full, 75km is driven and tank is nearly half

    Guys help me out, from where should i get it fixed in ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI? Tried 1-2 referenced mechanics but simply wasted money.

    remove the air blockage from AIR FILTER pipe and get your car retired from distributor on petrol (until it stops knocking on quick revs)

    is cng installed/ has it ever been cng'd?
    any modifications in the engine bay? When you say plugs are fine, how did you come to that conclusion, have they ever been replaced?

    Engine is stock and on petrol , no cng installed and never cng'd. Mechanic said the plugs are fine no need to change.

    Default Help Needed for civic 2005 vti oriel pros

    anyone suggest any good and reliable tuning center or mechanic in isb/rwp who can check the sensors and do the all need full to solve mileage and race issues

    As yesterday i got civic checked from enercon melody, they said emission,vaccum etc everything is fine but still its drinking petrol and race is sometimes high and sometimes low...its all happening after a local mechanic used carb cleaner spray in TB ,after that idle race started jumping from 1k-2k...he said chalyein theik hojaye ga as it happen but next day i got the TB opened and cleaned as needle was still jumping and from that day till now 260km is max wat i m getting in full tank n race issues sometimes go up n sometimes come down hit 0.8k n then go up to 1.5k and then slowly comes down.


    Car is civic 2005 vti oriel prosmatic totally stock on petrol(no cng)

    did that mechanic do anything else while spraying the carb cleaner? Simple spray into started engine or removed/dismantled anything?

    noop he just sprayed into carb and replaced the air filter and started the car.

    maybe he didnt clean it properly... it has happened to me before... but thorough cleaning resolved the matter. also have the IACV (idle air control valve) checked.

    Got the TB and intake manifold cleaned by Honda Center, I-10 on saturday, replaced all oils,air filter, flushed brake fluid, changed all brake pads..paid them 22k, well all RPM issues were solved and somehow brake is good now but still not satisfied as according to them its best...All engine and abs sensors are fine .

    After tuning filled tank n now its half tank and 265km driven on AC in city but today from no where RPM issues started again ...RPM jumps up to 2k when we start the car and comes down slowly in 5-6 sec, and idle RPM is variaying from 1.5k,1k to 0.8k. Sometimes RPM increases itself to 2k without pressing accelator and sometimes its starts jumping between 1-2k...not again , spent whole day in Honda to solve all these issues.

    What to do now?

    ^ u never mentioned abt cleaning of iacv. wat u just got is the cleaned TB & sensors checked. do the following & keep fingers xrossed:
    1. normally when TB is cleaned by spraying cleaner the TB gets cleaned but the IACV becomes dry. so it gets stuck. So get ur IACV out & get it cleaned & then lubricated with 2-3 drops of brake oil.
    2. Check for vacuum leaks. try tightening the bolts which hold on the TB to the intake mani. when TB is taken out for cleaning its gaskit or gene we say needs to b replaced which we normaly dont bother abt & use the old gaskit. but the gaskit is to be changed whenever it is opened.
    So check for vacuum leaks very comprehensively. small misalignment of air cleaner box or small cracks r common.

    Thanks bro for replying...IACV everything was cleaned by Honda mechanics,every sensor was checked.

    But good news is i just opened its airfilter box and felt loose sensor next to TB i guess connected to IACV. I just started the car n simply changed its position i mean rotated a little to center position n walllaaah RPM came to normal n why this sensor was loose bcz there was only one screw which was also not tighten...there was no second screw . Well got it fixed by placing both screws and tightened them. Well finally no idle rpm or high rpm issues.

    @irfan44
    i seem to be having the same issue... rough idling...tried out 8 different IACVs and another throttle body but to no avail... tariq semi-sorted (pronounced 'jugarr') it by blocking one hole in the iacv... but... its just not proper... idle is now at 1000 to 1200 rpm
