Salam PWs
As you all must be knowing that until recently the civics in Pakistan were not equipped with O2 sensors. I have a 99 civic and its running too rich. I just want to install an O2 sensor in it so that ECU may be able to control the Air/Fuel ratio at its own.
I have learned from a fellow PW that Pakistani older civic's dont have o2 sensor but a TRIM POT Setting/ Potentiometer in its driver side kick panel. i found the switch but dont want to fiddle with it.
the potentiomter provides a constant signal to ECU in lieu of O2 sensor. In this case the ECU has no means of knowing the actual air/fuel ratio.
BTW the ECU i have is P2C.
So i want to install an actual O2 sensor on my exhaust mani. Kindly pour in your expert opinion on following:
1. Can it be done in general by simply removing the potentiometer & hooking up same wiring to O2?
2. The potentiometer have 3 wire connected to it. but i dont know what type of O2 can be connected to P2C ECU (1wire or 4 wire).
3. If anyone can do it, plz contact me.
I will upload the pics of POTENTIOMETER soon.
