    Depends on what engine you're running. I've found that Honda's steel oil pans accommodate more oil than the aluminum ones.

    Honda Civic vti 1996 engine oil capacity -325487

    You can see in the picture there; the difference between Y7 and Y8. Its worth noting that Y7, just like our local engines, came with steel pan so its good with 3.6 liters.
    Most of import engines we swap have aluminum pans so you have to be careful when topping them up.

    go for 3.3 ltr. i had the same problem. once topped it up with 3.7 ltrs & many of the oil seals gave up. changed the seals & hit & trial results came to 3.3 exact.

    3.5 litres is enough - it will show perfectly between the marks of the dipstick. Also for oil changes find some M12 copper washers 2 are enough, anneal them for each use. Dont throw them away.

    to anneal - get a welder to heat them up to an orange glow and let it cool down - it will become soft again perfect for the next use. The reason I said 2 was that you can install a ready one and get the other annealed later. For sure your sump bolt will never leak. Just dont overtighten it like a gorilla would.
