Default Civic 97 RPM issue on CNG

    Hi All,
Can any one please tell help me. I have recently started experiencing problem with my civic RPM when on CNG. It drops when I apply brakes or when idle.

This issue started a few days earlier. It works perfectly ok when on petrol i.e. rpm stays at minimum of 900. One strange thing though, when I fill CNG from peshawar, the RPM at idle is again at 900(or 800) but when I fill from Islamabad/Rawalpindi, the RPM drops.

Please Help, I cant drive the car anymore. I tried to manually tune it by a mechanic, but it didnt worked

Let me tell you.My previous car was Civic 96 Exi M/T which was on CNG.The RPM was never ever stable.I tried my best to solve this issue but no success. Not that i have a Civic 2000 Vti Oriel A/T which is petrol driven.Allah ka shukar no issues. The thing is these cars were designed to be driven on petrol.People have forcefully converted it to CNG.Now the ECU thinks the car as a petrol driven car.It would receive and send signals to the sensors as if car is being driven on petrol but it's not so if problems occur related to RPM it is pretty much normal.

Though i suggest you not to use CNG in EFI cars but still you can get a lot of things done to make it better.

1:Check if there is any vacuum leakage.
2:Get the throttle body fully serviced using throttle body cleaner.
3:Make the auto choke is working properly.
4:Get you car check on a scanner.Make sure each and every sensor is working properly.
5:Make sure CNG mixture and idle control is set properly.
6:Make sure the accelerator wire is properly tightened.
7:Make sure there is no leakage in air filter box.
8:Also check if the intake manifold is clean.
9:Get brand new NGK spark plugs.
10: Still not satisfied.Sell your car and get a petrol driven Civic.
