    Default Civic vti prosmatic 2002 rpm problem

    Dear friends need urgent help if any boday can,i have got civic 2002 prosmatic through out petrol driven regular maintained by honda 3s, last summer got my gear clutch plates burn out due to filter choking and over hauled after 3 months of this got a rmp problem the car going smooth at 80km/hr and 2000rpm suddenly the rpm jump to 2400 and speed remains same ,then i have to stop the car put to races padels and switch off it normalize ,honda failed to resolve the proble,gear changed,throttle changed,ecu changed but problem solved temporarely next day same problem , what should be done ,after all efforts now mostly problems occur when car accelarates after slowing down.

    the gears are slipping most probably.
    you should have bought a used second hand gear box(kabli) and not gone for its repair

    thanks for reply brother but honda people changed the gear with another honda that was fine on drive bjut my problem remains the same,throttle changed 3times,complete wiring checked,ECM CHANGED AFTER ALL THESE EXERCISE the car drive for 50-60km very fine then on bumpy road again start this,one rpm jumps up car moves in same plus 400rpm then normal ration,instead 2500 for 100km/hr then its 3000 rpm for 100km/hr

    speed is constant,
    like 100km/hr but the RPM crosses from 2.5k to 3k (without speed change)?

    yes once this occurs it can only be solved either to stop the car and put two races and then move again or when gear shifts down and accelerates again then feels ok

    the gear they swapped in is damaged/slipping for sure

    i think your wiring is messed up go to some wiring cheetah get your wiring checked

    i have planned to go to honda forte this friday if they suggest gear change will go for it.secondly wiring chequed completely by both honda and outside electrician,when ever we tried to get it solved , the car drive for 60 km approx fine then this starts ,previously slipping problem was very much but when they cleaned the vss sensor on gear top it settles now mostly it happens when gear falls from 4th to lower ratio and accelerate again,and more when in morning hours.

    i m presently in jhang ,got all things done by honda chennab faisalabad and canal motors.exhausted by them now going to honda forte if they failed deciding to get new wiring and kabli gear replacement.

    @ doctorahmadtanveer sahab no need to waste time and money i faced thus same problem in 2002 with my accord transmission and after wasted money and time i was able to figured out that the problem was with transmission simply visit bilalgunj survey the market and pick good qabli transmission. plz note ask shop keeper to give u transmission which would attached with qabli engine.

    when this happens the car moves like with cold engine start and drive same time response of rpm, any more suggestions????

    I see the matter and think that your transmission has worn out clutches and bands, tell honda to drive the car upto 100 km/hr for some long distance with automatic transmission scanner attached/connected so that they can see all the inputs and outputs of TCM, anyway 2nd hand gearbox can show some other issues too, better if Honda mechanics can rebuild your gear box with experience otherwise try to get gearbox from any crashed car.

    BTW do you feel other abnormalities from the gear box like delay in engagement when you shift from N to D or R, or any strong jerk etc etc?

    High RPM means your acceleration is more or due to low gear or gear slippage speed is less so fuel is being consumed for that high RPM level but If the car is in right gear or if there is no slippage you can use that power and achieve the right speed like we can run in first gear at 3000 RPM and in the top gear at 3000RPM but we cover more distance in top gear with the same amout of fuel at 3000RPM so there is a strong relationship between fuel consumed and RPM and the work done.so running soft and changing gears at right rpm and by keeping in top gear as much as possible will give you fuel efficiency for Sure.

    For all my beloved brothers on this forum helped me with there suggestions, dear my problem is solved by atlast the master blaster honda forte with no charges u know how? They just take a drive come back get the engine and gear wiring sockets tightened and there they find a knocking sensor wire without cover taking the impulse from the running engine and creating this problem ,they just covered it up with new jack and then i took a 120km drive same day, since then i m driving a new car excellent average improvement and also they suggested me to get the iac valve change next time, which for sure i will do next wk,shukar alhamduliallah my problem is done, gear is perfect engine is excellent,now on long route its doing 13-14 at speed of 110-120 i m going to buy honda reborn hybrid next month inshallah
