    Default Engine Swap 2000 civic

    Hi guys Recently Got myself a 2000 civic.
    Will be doing some pretty kick *** Visual mods on it soon.

    The main question i wanted to ask is which engine would you guys prefer.

    My basic requirements
    1. Nice power
    2. EXCELLENT fuel economy


    I am having a pretty tough time figuring out which engine to swap. a few people recommended me a k20. but from what i've heard a k20z fuel economy varies from 7-11.. that is still too high for me. Yeah i know now you would be wondering why should i get myself a mehran instead. But its a general question i would like to ask.

    Experts kindly share your views.

    and between 150-200 hp is enough power for me

    there is a guy on pakwheels who is selling a gt28rs looks fine to me that is one of the ideal turboes for 15k i guess
    t3/t25/t28/td05-16g/kkk26 these turbos will cost around 12-20k depending on condition

    bov(necessary)=4k-40k depends on what type of blowoff valve do you want

    chipped ecu=? depends on tuner 8K+
    rest fitting and labor the oil fed and others

    papa ne kitne paise diye munna ko zarra humain b btao.............first of all i not suggest u to go for turbo......if ur getting turbo setup in 50-60k...... then don"nt think that it will b in ur car in 80-90 k.....turbo ko set hotay huay bht se maslay atay hay......ik jata hay to dosra ata hay....3 4 tune up k baad set hoti hay.....Fitting+tune up ka pta hay kitne paise lete hay???....u neeeeedd deep pockets to handle a turbo......as ur saying,eco+fast.....as SpoonMotorSports explained Very well......they both are different things......aur ye pungay family car k sth nae lete...seprate car honi chaiye........car workshop may 1-2weeks rehte hay....

    Best things had been suggested u by Wonder_guy.....get ur car stock engine to stage 3 performance parts........get it low....catcbck,downpipe 2.50",ACT/Exceedy clucth n pressure plates............etc.....or get ur engine to N/a setup.............if don"nt want ur stock engine ....thn Only Ill suggest u for B16 Stage 1.....i have experience all the things........at the stage u are bt only the difference is our civic was 98.....

    Okai now that pretty insulting i guess.. Atm i have 2 cars 1 reborn as u can see in my album. a Gli and this third one that i just bought. DOnt beleive me add me up on fb there u can see my garage. That ans ur question for family car. As for the tune ups and all that stuff. I am least bothered about that. I dont need money for that cuz i have my sources here in ISB! Next money well apart from what was used in buying the car i have 3.5lakhs. That i think should be enough.. And as for the eco bit. Its my right to know where i can save money. Aparently my dad's not a black market dealer. So yes where i can save money i will. And asking for advises aint an issue.. Or am i wrong. If so kindly do correct me.

    Hahahaha okay this is wack.

    The poster wants fuel economy AND power at the same time, and you guys are suggesting Turbocharging a D-series, swapping in a H22, K20, B16? Pathetic.

    @poster: With all due respect, since it's Papa's money, let me ask you, are you facing any problem with your current engine? If not, then swapping in a D16Z6 would be a waste which is the best option here in terms of fuel economy and a reasonable amount of power for a daily runner.

    Oh and PLEASE don't rice up the car with "Kick-**** "visual mods".
    Stock is best with just a few upgrades here and there.

    Chillout, I was just being realistic. Yes I'm 19 and a part of a very well known Photography Firm, meaning I earn well enough (MashAllah) to spend on my car and my equipment, no hard feelings here.

    Okay so if the car is well maintained, then just giving the current engine a good day of care will do your job and you can save the money on the swap and spend in the current engine, D-series are made to last, 150k is nothing unless the engine was abused and has damaged internals.

    If you go for a swap at the end of the day, then take into consideration these engines:

    - D16Z6
    - ZC SOHC
    - D16Y6

    Turbocharging any engine from the Honda line up will be a pain if your car is a daily runner, since Turbo engines require more maintenance as there is more wear and tear occurring, you'll need very frequent Oil/Oil Filter changes and then the problems that come with a Turbo Charged swap, the list is endless, better stay away.

    Do a D-series swap and for any performance add-ons, take a look at Spoon's post # 21

    if you want to play with the fire then the Honda J32A should be your choice, 3.2L 260 hp@6200 rpm SOHC VTEC V6. It should scoot your civic quite easily. I can help you source one from Dubai

    and remember one line in the car world - there is no engine that is powerful and economical. its either one or the other.

    Well i took it as an insult. my question was what i should do to get both things together. I knw both extreme ends for economy and power. but yes its a difficult thing to attain power and both economy. So that is why i put it up here. What i really dont get is that if someone is trying to save of some money whats a big deal in that. Not every one can afford to have a race car. and now u people will say k shoq hi na rakho... and as for that part k how other members talk. well mera unsa pala abhi tak nai parha. but yeah here is a comment for that. Just cuz talking like cheapsters and making fun of other people is a habbit around here at pw. it doesnt justifies ur action. Respect goes both ways.

    And this in no way i am insulting u. just clarifing what I think is right and what is wrong. kindly correct me otherwise...
