    Default Civic 1997 Engine temprature??

    Dear All,

Yesterday i noticed that when i drive my car a bit fast and chage the gears at around 5k to 6K RPM the Car Temprature Guage goes upto aroung three quarter from zero and when i slow the car it come down to half in 2 mins max to normal temprature. Whar could be the reason for that. My radiator fan is at auto. The water level in the radiator is constant.? Does coolant has anything todo here as i am using water.
Need suggestions before i go to some mechanic.

    Regard
    Farooq

check for the belts & engine pulley damper which runs the alternator & water pump - check for hose pipes, thermostat and Please USE COOLANT, water will rust out radiator, engine block water lines, water pump feed line and cause great dent to pocket.

check that your radiator is fit correctly and at correct level, check that the radiator cap is correct and that you have no air in the system. Honda engines have a hard time getting all the air out. And check the metal pipe that goes to the water pump, if its partially blocked then your engine will overheat.
