get a scroll type compressor from a later model civic, it will be bolted to any EFI D series engine in the scrapyard.

Only go for its orginal AC compressor. I had installed a bigger compressor in my c95 earlier, believe me the cooling was ****.Eventhough i bough a brand new compresor SANDEN 507..Only the original compressor of c95 works well. Then after 2 - 3 years of **** cooling i got the whole AC setup from Bilal Gunj except for the condensor and dryer bottle. Got a new condensor and new dryer bottle. rest all from Bilal Gunj, Compressor/Evaporator/Steel Pipes for the bottle. Only then was when i got to enjoy the cooling of my car..

The original compressor in the civic is the scroll type as I mentioned. but in the EG civic the problem is that the condenser is not quite good, the later EK civics had better condensers and fits perfectly.

The condensor of later models do not fit without alteration.. Civic 96 - 98's condensor is thicker in width, i thought of it to be more efficient , hence bought it. But that condensor wasnt able to fit in 95 civic. Anyhow if however we fit it any way then comes the issue of the nozzles of the condensor at a different place on the condensor. Again the issue of getting new nozzles welded and filling the actual nozzles of that condesor. So went back and returned the condensor and exchanged it with new condensor of 95 civic.

the thicker condenser fits very nicely, if the person who is working has proper tools to make some changes in the original mount points on the car. For the pipes - its best to swage new pipes onto old couplers of the compressor discharge line, so just use the couplers from the later civic. The exit liquid line is also easy to make and braze into place.
