I have overhauled quite a few engines and never faced any issues. But I never shortcut anything, If i see something is not worthy of repair like a cracked block I dont repair it.
I havent rebuild any engine or so since im not a mechanic. The type of machinery which local tooling ppl have does not perform precision job n they dont even know how to even read Varnier caliper etc. There are very very few talented and educated Mechanic though autoenthusiast like u in our country n they charge alot mostly.I also got few cars frm our fleet overhauled frm Amir Nazir Tunner and Honda Fort but they charge alot yet Job is excelent.Dont know if DrBoost is ready to pay such or not.EVEN if evaluate part cost n regularly charged labor its going to cost way more then an assembly.
