Default 2005 civic, Steering is so hard, plz help ~

Hi Guyz, i recently bought new 05 civic exi,
its steering is much harder, even more then my old 02 civic.
Please advise what kind of problem might be there ?

is there any kind of oil in steering which helps to keep it soft, or what else might be to solve this problem,

    Thanks for help in Advance.

bhai jaan, you just bought the blue exi right?...any ways i have an EXI myself, steering is a tad bit harder than my Citys steering, but i really like it...it gives a very solid/stable feel....maybe its due to my 15" yokos, but dont know, u shud check the powersteering fluid level...last but not least, it could also be due to crappy stock general tyres.

This civic has a heavier steering. Fat Tires make it more heavier.

the problem is not with the tires (unless you are low on pressure or running on flats)...its with the steering system itself.

it can be the cable, rack, power steering fluid or the line feeding the fluid.

since its all new...take it back to the dealer and have it checked.

I am pretty much sure nothing is wrong.
its just that u have to get used to the new car.
When ever i drive my cousins EXI-S after my Civic, i also feel the steering is much heavier in the city. Different car, different feel.....
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

Honda says they install Wishbone suspension haha. my car alwz jumps around here n there on the bumps. kiya car hai??..

electronic controlled or power controlled...isnt that the same stuff...i mean...the operation of the system is the same and im sure that is not the reason..the dealer is perhaps not telling you right.

and the bumping you feel is a straight suspension issue. if its under warranty...have your shocks and springs checked...they should not go bad since its a new car.

i only get pissed to read ppl complaining about their new cars....come on...its a new car....ask the dealer...not the ppl at PW...lol

Yes the steering is harder in new civic, the problem is slightly solved if you raise the steering level. At low levels it feels more hard.
I had a baleno earlier, it had the softest steering. Once the power steering stopped working due to pump problem and it became as hard as civic has in good working condition.

Refer your car's manual. Check powe steering belt and its tension. Maybe it will help.

    @szuberi
In Honda City when u give the ignition , ECS lights on n check the power motor of the car, n CIVIC is just simple power assisted nt power controlled. this I had ask from honda mechnics.
well in pakistan u can have a problems in a brand new cars, the one of my example iz , my VTi-Oriel's chamber seel leeked after 2 months from delivery n we drove 1000km . under warrantee honda ppl change that seel but this is wat iz happing in pakistan.
