I had read alot about some ones shares on hyper-miling ( the guy with a civic got around 17kmpl something...may be thats u. Dont remember the name) i shift gear at 1.5k rpm nd my foot on peddle is very light i just touch it lol
Nd i move constantly nd etc etc but still its not going beyond than 10kmpl some times is gives 11but on avg its 10 .... On pure high way drive it gives 14 with car full or luggage and 5 adults on board (almost kissing every speed breaker ) with out hypermilling but yes speed close to 100.... M using 20-50 havoline nd stock tyre size nd car is MT + car is mechanically/ electrically excellent with all mentainance carried out personally in my sight ...

Your car has a D17 engine? Does it have O2 sensors and catalytic converter installed? A decatted car that was originally designed for a cat will generally give poor fuel economy.

If the engine has done 100K +, pure synthetic is not recommended, use semi-synthetic instead. Also consider upgrading my 2013 civic prosmetic gives 11.8 in city with AC. Highway mileage varies according to speed. But with careful driving even 16-17 is achievable.

That's a myth. Synthetic can be used no matter what the mileage of the car.

It can only be problematic if the car is a frequent short tripper, or has direct fan/ no thermostat, or a clogged PCV valve, or too long a drain interval is used, a low detergent oil is used, or a combination of the above. These factors contribute to sludge build up; it can cause severe damage to the engine.

In such a car, dislodged sludge could potentially clog the oil filter, leading to oil starvation and failure of the engine. The only solution is to replace the oil filter several times before the next oil change. The synthetic's cleaning properties, combined with a few long road trips, will clean up the engine real good.

*sarcasm starts here* Yeah, who needs environment friendly stuff? Its not like we need clean air to live or anything.*sarcasm ends here*

Anyways, those carbs and old local EFIs were designed from the outset to run without O2 sensors or cats. The ECUs of these EFI cars didn't depend on a continuous stream of data from O2 sensors; they had trimpots instead. Carburetors depended on different circuits to provide the correct amount of fuel depending on the mode of operation.

If you remove a cat from a car which was designed with one, the downstream O2 sensor would sense something is wrong, and the engine would be dumping a lot of fuel into the exhaust. This leads to poor performance and fuel economy. A lot of ECU software modification is needed to counteract this; you can't exactly get that done from a tree shade mechanic in 100 rs.

This leads to poor performance and fuel economy. A lot of ECU software modification is needed to counteract this; you can't exactly get that done from a tree shade mechanic in 100 rs.
Well to be precise Primary AF sensor or O2 sensor is responsible for adjusting short term fuel trims. Secondary one is just to know if Cat is working the way it was meant to be. Well when it comes to sarcasm have seen dudes with JDMs and their cat goes bad and they just remove it and its not big deal to fool secondary O2 there are emulators available. When it comes to ECU software modifications you dont even get to modify it from 3s dealers. They are MAPS.
