Guys, this is a great thread for all who are planning to book a new civic! Indeed the experiences shared here are a great guide.

I am heading to book PT Oriel with Nav and no leather seats in grey color. I need to understand if we can get an after market nav installed also incase if i dont go for the OEM Nav?

Honda is charging 60.5K for OEM Nav - I thought it was quite much - does it have real value for money? and expecially the quality because i thought it would be chinese? I currently have Pionner 3350BT in my Honda City and it plays music so good!

Your feedback would help me either opt Nav or leave it as an add on as i will finalize my booking on Monday.

    Thanks!

    Cheers!
Always do the right thing. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

Honda charges for it? This sat nav is provided by the tracking world company. If the poster goes to them won't they fit the sat nav for him at a more reasonable price ? There's no point of going to the Honda dealership for this anyway as they can't even update the system (even for that you've to visit the tracking world office)

    hey guys
    hope everyone is doing fine
I am thinking of installing unichip in my 2014 civic
Not necessarily to increase the power or economy, but to reduce or eliminate the shift lag. The prosmatec suffers from a great deal of shift lag. The time between the pressing of throttle and the car shifting down is a little too much. I was thinking maybe unichip can reduce that and make the throttle more responsive like in a manual car?
anyone has any views/ideas to share regarding it?
should I go ahead with it or will the outcome not be worth the price?

According to Unichip, you get a 30 day money back guarantee. Do tell them to write it down on paper and stamp it. 'tis Pakistan
Another issue could be warranty problems by Honda.
They also have this U Plug and Play Chip- It will leave no trace of any modification since you can remove it whenever you want, that's the warranty issue gone out of the window .Check this thread out; https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/per...nt-performance
Turbo lag is like foreplay. You know it's coming. And it's gonna be good.

Check out @tausifs thread, he installed that in his GLi I think and is satisfied.
I went through that thread. The prob is that he did it to increase the power output on that 1.3L engine.
I have a slightly different aim, to eliminate or reduce the shift lag
Anyone can shed some light on that will be helpful
Btw that money back guarantee makes me wanna go for it. Though they only give the device money back. Not the dyno and the map setting/designing fee. So even if i refund, I ll still end up loosing 10k or so.

Well, for that, you can contact them on their FB page- They should have some other solution for that as well

Please post results here too. I also suffer a great deal by this slow shift response. I seriously miss my manual ex ride sometimes!

    Sure thing
filhaal em doing some searching to find out whether chipping the ecu can really reduce the lag or not. Unchip does state that the drive by wire respose can be adjusted by it so maybe they can reduce the issuse.
I ll let you guys know what they have to say once i meet them in person
Another thing you might have noticed with this civic, one you cross a speedbreaker slowly, you press the accelerator, it takes quite a while after which the car jerks very slightly and gets into gear. Happens with me all the time, annoying as ****

Yeah that plus there is no gradual increase in speed or response while on highway cruising speeds. One really has to floor the pedal the trigger downshifting!
Also share what quote you get from unichip. Thanks
