As someone said, mummy daddy people are gonna buy it more often than a usual civic customer. 8th gen made its repute as the best family sedan out there with a perfect combination of power and sportiness. The burnt bottom was the fuel average, thats all. Otherwise the car fulfilled the needs whatsoever.

""Based on international reviews by critics 9th gen Civic is more sober design than ever so how could it be popular among mummy daddys and who you think are the usual civic customer. Even IDsi city felt more roomy to me after sitting in the 9th gen.

guys please don't indulge in personal attacks.

Change the topic and tell me did anyone calculate the fuel consumption of the 9th generation? Any substantial improvements using the Econ button?

^ Based on the estimates of EPA in city it does 28 MPG which is roughly 11.5 Km/l and on highway it may reach up to 13~14 Km/l but who knows in reality.

leave him alone bud, he is useless person.

as for fuel mileage, well, yaar no one who bought the 9th gen has actual values as yet cz every civic is under 1k kms mileage. So, fuel average analyses aren't gonna be here till at least a month or so. A dude in my friends' circle travelled from lahore to isb on 9th gen and he got around 10-12kpl with mixed drive, some with econ, some without it. Currently his car is under 700kms on odo, so he isn't able to make a conclusion. He is planning to get mobil1 FS after 1k kms, so hopefully mileage figures will get better.

thats pretty good. I got 16kpl on manual, but with light foot all the way without ac on motorway.
and where is the fun in a careful drive? I often drive the hell outta it and still manage to get 12. use total or caltex petrol and u'll get considerably better figures.

FYI the cabin size of 8th Gen and 9th Gen is exactly same,, i can bet on that,,i m 6 ft tall and own 8th gen and have tried sitting in 9th gen. as well, no difference in leg space and room as from inside there isnt a difference of one inch in cabin...even the dash board material is also same although there are some additions to it.. even corolla's present model has hard dashboard and door panels?? so why this all debate??
CIVIC is more about Style than Space..

Maybe it changes gears at lower RPM, and controls the throttle so that accelerator is less responsive etc. But if it does that sorts of things then on highways we go on constant speed, will eco mode be as much efficient on higways ?

All Civic models (except Si models) have as standard a driver-selectable "ECON" driving mode that alters the Drive-by-Wire throttle system response curve in the range from about 25 percent of pedal movement to 90 percent. With less gain, the throttle opening in this range increases more gradually, for better fuel efficiency. ECON mode also alters shift timing (when equipped with automatic transmission), and alters the operation of the air conditioning system (see the Interior section for more information).
