    Dear arsi13, just ask your mech to bleed it out, bleed it out, bleed it out and if the gasket is okay, you don't have anything to worry about. Make sure you got the radiator flushed and put in the correct coolant with appropriate levels.

    By the way, the needle usually remains at half in this particular model as correctly pointed out by another respectable member

    @Xulfiqar bhai:
    My father has the same car,
    our mechanic once said that in this model of Civic (2001~2006 EXI/VTI), Honda have a special feature in which the ECU turns off the car when the engine temp goes over 75~80%, hence saving the Gaskit. Can you confirm???

    problem can be in two things. 1- air trapped 2- water pump fault first try to bleed air from the cooling system. take care to a slope where upper side is fairly high. carefully open radiator cap and add water so that all air escapes. and check water pump belt. third thing is very rare. it is blockage/rust in system. happens if you run it with direct fan + tap water for long. it destroys cooling system, radiator, engine. you will be left with scrape in few years.

    bleed air and check water pump and you are ready to go. just keep observing coolant temperature.

    yes buy a radiator flush/cleaning product from auto shop. you need to know how to open radiator drain plug. follow instructions on product. after flush put water + coolant mixture in car. if you have never done anything like that get it done from some good mechanic. also buy distilled water, better put that in car instead of tap water. mechanics will tell you that tap water is OK but don't trust them.

    Before you proceed for the long haul, drive your car continously for an hour or two, in and around the city. If the car behaves well and you feel confident, only then go for it.
    Plan your move meticlously. If going by Zhob side, plan a night stay at Zhob or DIK. If going by Sibbi, stop at Sukkur or RYK. Don't be ambitious in reaching destination.
    Buy a good radiator flush, and use it. There are many a reasonable shops on Double rd, Airport rd and Jinnah rd.

    Hope it helps
