    Chaudhari yaar
aap nay pakwheels par time hi zaya kiya hai
5k is enough for the blue box
oil does not change in samadh or scooter bond to indicate it needs to be changed

kindly drain and replace the transmission oil ASAP.use it max 40,000kms. you may use Zic gear oil for auto transm
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

If you ask the oil gurus (like Storm etc) they will tell you that the shell oil is almost as pathetic as any other oil available in the market. wether that is any PSO, shell or any local brand. The only exception is the caltex havoline which is much better but still not better.
The reason for them being pathetic is not the innate quality of the oil but because those oils are manufactured for much softer climates and easier driving conditions.

Our enviornment is much more dusty, temperature is much higher as well plus city driving harldy sees the 4th let alone the 5th gear.

If you are a mineral oil user change the oil and filter after 4000 km no matter what the oil feels like or after 4 months which ever come first. This is because you cant tell oil degradation by wether its sticky or lost its texture (and if you can either your fingers have far superior sensitivity or your oil is completely finished and has turned to water). Good mineral oil include Petromin (perhaps best bang for the buck), fuchs, liqui moli.

If you are using synthetic take up the oil changing interval to 10,000 no problem. but change the filter every 5000km as well becuase thats what keeps your oil clean and prevents damage to your engine. Good synthetic include mobil1, liqui moli etc.

Your owner manual would include the oil interval changes in the booklet, read it. If you are due get it changed, after you change it you will realise the difference.

    Hope this helps.

All oils need to be changed at regular intervals, brake oil is recommended to be changed every 2 years or every year if you live in humid climate, gear oil needs to be changed every 2 years for manual or whatever is recommended, steering oil is changed out every 100,000 kms or earlier if its contaminated, and always use proper recommended oils.

5k 0r 6k is pure madness for the kind of oil that you mentioned.

for a car like urs, use caltex havoline (black box) and change it on 3k or 3.5k. NOT MORE THAN THAT. it is the best oil for such mileage.

you are advised to change the gear oil. use GENUINE HONDA ATF. do not go for any other ATF fluid. Old price was 1000rs/ liter. dont have any idea about current price. Please change it once as you never know if the previous owners changed it or not. Honda recommends changing it after 40k.

check power steering fluid and leave it as it is if the guage shows full oil.

i am recommending you caltex havoline because it was being used by honda officially. Check back of the box and you will find similar company name (behind havoline box and genuine honda mobil oil box) i.e. Chevron

No need for a genuine mobil oil filter. Use GUARD. it is the best filter and very economical. never go for any other brand as filter plays a vital role in the performance of your car and also protects ur car's engine.

    hope it helps

i have no idea if previous owners changed the oils or when they changed them
so how to check if brake n steering oil needs to be changed,i filled up more brake oil when it fell below the line
as for steering oil,it feels like if it is below the line (bottle isnt transparent) but when i open the cap it feels full
current price of ATF is 1180 per litre, will get that changed soon,i was confused as if gear oil is also filled more if it gets less or whole is changed like engine oil

is guard filter the one that is available at caltex pumps?
changed the engine oil recently, will get havoline next time

might even change the fuel filter for getting better petrol average

Caltex Havoline mineral formula is outdated technology. Its still an excellent oil for older style engines and it would be downright silly to change at 3500 kms - that is throwing money out the window.

anyway - brake fluid is the MOST IMPORTANT oil to be changed in a car as its job is to prevent human fatalities. Get it done and if you dont change ATF in time kiss your transmission goodbye - because its dying a slow death.

As oil ages and gets worked out with heat, the lighter HC get flashed off and the viscosity stabilisers break down both make it thicker.

use any oil rated at API SJ or above, btw changing brake oil requires a pressure pump or at least 2 people who know what they are doing, changing the oil is not just drain and fill. Old oil is pushed out by new oil from all 4 wheels. Requires about a litre of oil in an ABS civic.

Maray Bhai Meharbani Karo apnay par aur pani gari PER.

Take your car to honda 3s dealer

Tell them its run 100k and get the estimate of the work required and get general check up and tell them to make an estimate for parts and labour.
Total cost of above will be max 2k.

Now they will give you estimate of all the work which needs to be done on your car.

As per me if you want to live a happy problem free life you must get all the work done they recomment.

    As per me

    you need to

get all the shocks and bushed
    timing belt
    ac belt/fan belt
    water body
    radiator service
    coolent
    brake pads/tooling
all fluid change( brake(replacement), steering, transmission)
    throttle body cleaning
    carburator cleaner
    fuel filter

And yes if the say something is wrong with your head gas kit or something similar just sell your car.
