    Default CIVIC Windscreen

    aoa,

recently a bullet dropped on my car 1997 Honda Civic's Windscreen and broke it .....

can anybody tell me from where i can get it replaced by a genuine one .....

Honda dealerships sell it for Rs.6,000/- + Tax + Rs.1500/- fitting charges....

i did a little survey in the plaza market (karachi) and found out that all kinds of cheaters are active in the market and the glass is available from Rs.2,200 - Rs.4,500, with different people claiming different things about the make and originality of the glass ..... some say what they are selling is original ..... others say that no original is available in karachi .....

guyz please share your knowledge on this ....

if anyone knows where i can find an original windscreen for my car and for what price, please do comment ....

    thanx in advance..

Honda dealership is the best choice, even costlier than open market but then you have no doubts about genuine thing and they do it cleanly. Go for 3S dear and not get cheated.

    Hello!
the Civic You mentioned was 98 model Local Atlas Honda Assembled Civic....sir are you sure that the glass you broke was all genuine made in japan????? i don't think so.......
better get Thailand one if available.........or ask some nice person about that....JAPAN was not doing stuff like that from many years.......they have their departments shifted in other countries.......so find a reasonable person in plaza and get that fixed........3S offers same thing but with the rates of 3S HOnda.............
i don't think you find any japanese glass.....thailand one got better than malaysia...ask the person for better one and install...

doesnt matter if its made in thailand or japan. i am saying this because i believe Honda will only sell you a quality part and not a cheap one.

I dont wanna say that Atlast Honda people are frauding everyone...but then ...i may be wrong.
I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it..and so restriction of free thought and free speech is the most dangerous of all subversions.

    Hello guys.

Wanted some information. I want to purchase Civic windscreen (98 VTI). Market search resulted in the info that all windscreens are China made - and there are actually no Indonesian, Malaysia or Taiwani products. A dealer who says he has windscreen other than Chinese is basically lying.

Is it true info? There really is no Taiwanese/ Indonesian windscreen in market? If present, whats the distinguishing feature?

    Warm regards.

Most of auto spares are now coming form China, even 3S workshops are now using Chinese spares.

Thanks a lot autophile and bradpit.

Well I did eventually dived in water and had the 'good quality chinese' product installed. Hopefully it works. Looks alright.
On a side note, my post appeared very late on PakWheels or perhaps it was just me...? and this also led to not taking any info from you bradpit though being in Karachi. Thanks for the offer.

    Warm regards.

    Welcome anytime brother.

    Rs. 3,000 for China

Rs. 6,400 for genuine Thailand glass.

Fitting is quite tricky in this model.
