Default Civic 98 RPM up/down and running in petrol problem

    Dear All

    Aslamoalikum

I have civic 98 Automatic. The problem with this car is, one day it cannot run on petrol. The mechanic check fuel pump, filter, injectors, throttle body etc. At last he was telling that he find out the solution and he modify or cut the wire from RPM meter and may be he had connect it to the distributor. After that car start on petrol but RPM meter going up and down during running. Before that issue when I release the accelerator, the car was jerking but there was no up and down in RPM.

The another problem is that during running on petrol the engine is knocking although injectors are clean and he has checked from petrol pipe that they are releasing petrol by applying 12 Volts.

Please guide me for these problems.

it seems sensors are malfunctioning and your mechanic does not know how to diagnose and fix it the proper way
which is to find the error code and work on the particular sensor or area
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

To me it seems like your ignition module in your distributor went faulty and your mechanic has used the rpm wire to trigger a spark, which is a NO! NO!.This module is square shape, thin and can be put in from another honda distributor as long as its from a similar age car..
