Also if you shift into D from N and leave the brake immediately, the car then given a TAK sound while moving, but if you keep the brake pedal pressed for a second or two after shifting into D, then its just a slight click and nothing else

Also if the car is parked on an inclined surface without handbrake in P. When shifting in such a case, a loud 'daz' will be heard sometimes even shaking the whole car along with the sound, thats normal too.
    same thing in my car
The parking in P is not recommended at all without a handbrake, that massive DAZ sound is created because your car is resting at the load of transmission if handbrake isn't applied. Therefore that DAZ sound means you have overworked your transmission with force and weight of car which will ultimately result in a longer run and time that your transmission will be giving away some day causing parts to break inside or wear off. As far as the other TAK sounds are concerned thats a mystery and not happens with every car. Some are smooth while a few encounter this. Once a mechanic at Honda lined my brake pads with packing of metal between pads and calipers to tighten them up. And it went absolutely away, many days passed and there was no sound at all, this giving rise to the notion that its the pad that moves and creates this sound against hitting calipers on to and fro movement. This is why Honda changed my calipers too but as soon as new calipers were fitted and those metal packings removed, the sound effect came back after a little while. I asked them to change my pads which might be slightly smaller in size creating trouble according to this theory but they didn't do it and changed calipers instead. All this is coming down to one observation, the specification manufacturing and size of brake pads is not a perfect fit for the calipers.

The transmission shifting from D to N or R to N or R to D does give a click sound and that one is normal. But this loud bang TAKK sound of metal clanking is surely abnormal

Don't worry. Next time when you wash the car make a lightly diluted solution of APC and water and clean it.
Nothing would happen if the driver has washed it with surf once, repeatedly it would have an adverse effect.
Also avoid using any plastic shine sprays on the plastics in the engine bay, due to excessive heat they would also make the plastic lose colour.
    Happy detailing

I can relate the sound ure discussing but trust me this one is something else. Even Honda engineers had been scratching their heads about it and they themselves said its something wrong. They had dozens of other cars at the 3S facility for comparison while checking mine and they all did not have it. They specially sent an automobile engineer from their factory all the way to sort it out who did admit this is an unusual issue and is there in a fee cars. Normally goes away after changing axle assembly. Else why do u think they would spend a fortune changing my axles twice and brake assembly too at companies cost if this was normal. The one ure talking about is not snapping metal sound its something else and yes i agree it comes in almost all hondas and usually many autos, had that sound in my 2010 City AT and have it in my 8th gen too and also have that sound in my Passo too, and i promise i do know what that sound feels like when shifting an auto since i have owned prosmatecs and autos ever since 2001 model all the way till today for 13 years now including German ones and imported SUV's in my garage by the grace of GOD. So i dont think im that much of an unexperienced car owner who can't differentiate normal sounds to abnormal ones. Hope you will try to understand that it is a genuinely abnormal sound we are talking about here in a few 9th gens only and not most automatic cars or most Civics for that matter

right. Not blaming you or anything. I know there must be something abnormal or else honda doesn't change stuff so easily. Anyways best of luck. Hope your issue gets resolved. Hate to see such issues with new cars. Its very frustrating. Been through the same phase when I bought a new swift. Had to open its gearbox in order to resolve a annoying clutch pedal noise

There is metal pin/plate kind of thing above and below where the pads are fitted in the caliper. Make sure those are in place. Btw I had my car's brake service done recently. The pads seemed to fit tightly in the caliper. Didn't check them myself, maybe there is some play in them

That is exactly what i think too. Will be clear once i replace new pads after a few thousand kms, waiting for that. And yes bro that is very frustrating and embarrasing at the same time.

I thought i would replace my 8th gen reborn with a new Corolla Grande so will have both latest Civic and Corolla models in the house. But i could not handle the disappointment once i saw Corolla and specially after i sat on its driving seat. That made me rethink and i felt more comfortable keeping a range of Honda Civic models
