Damn. Original leather gave up so eariler? I'm surprised. Thank God I didn't waste 55k on leather seats.
Ali what was the total cost of these seat covers and what is this material called? I wasn't going for seat covers but after looking at your car's seats, I have made my mind to go for leatherette seat covers. It's very very nicely done.
I'm noob in this specific area as I never got seat covers installed in any of my cars.

I am not getting seat covers for my upcoming Altis.

I also did not put seat covers on my Mehran and for the past two years seats are fine and I never needed any cleaning on fabric part. On plastic part simple duster was ok.

I will put seat covers only when original seat covers start to disintegrate or start discoloring. That is the right time for seat covers. Till then enjoy the feel and look of original seats.

I learnt the lesson from my previous car which I bought brand new and put seat covers and those seat covers lasted well till I sold it after 10 years recently. No one who came to see the car asked to remove seat covers to see seat condition.

Just a naive question. Once the plastic on the seats of a new car tears away can it be replaced from anywhere in Islamabad?

Bro this is called leatherite. Its the abundantly availaible artificial leather used in furniture and stuff. A superior item than normal Rexine. A low grade poshish will cost you about Rs.4000 but the one i got is thick and best available artificial leather and total cost was Rs.6500. My poshish wala keeps this superior quality sample book with him and you can select your texture/color out of it. Or you can buy it directly from market and pay Rs.2500 Labor. Please make sure you select the thickest one available so it stays comfortable and lasts longer as opposed to hard normal thinner Rexine.
This poshish type is called genuine stitch. Its actually needled on the genuine seats line by taking them out of the car, unlike normal seat covers which get loose. After you select material a day or two needed for stitching and once stitched, you have to take the car for max 2 hours for seats to be removed for fixing it.
Trust me it will be a good experience for you. I got one of my 2009 8th gen's leatherite removed and replaced after 6 years. No damage to original seats at all.

I do not know if the guy is still there. It was adjacent to Toyota Islamabad Aabpara (main double road side- not the decoration shop in front, but it's inside an alley type small market. I got leatherite seats custom made from him in 2005 and those covers were super fit and lasted 10 years. Only driver seat started to wear off. Rest nothing happened. Was an expert guy. The colour of seats matched 100 percent with interior and did not fade at all. I thought it cost me around 4 K then.

I personally don't like leatherette because for our weather especially in the summers, the leatherette gets really hot, have experienced this on two cars that i installed leatherette in. Cloth seat covers are much better because they let air pass through, keeping them comparatively cool. Plus you have to take care of leather for example like nourish them with oils etc to prolong their life. Maybe that is the reason the leather degrading so fast.

Trust me its the leather quality that local manufacturers give. I have never ever taken any sort of care on my E class and the car is 2005 model. Its leather still looks absolutely brilliant. Nor my 2006 Prado leather looks bad. But Honda's leather just needs a few months at max to make you regret wasting money.
As far as Leatherite is concerned just open your door for a minute or 2 with A/C on and its all perfect. Have been using it for many years in all my cars and never felt problem in summers. Its easier to clean if you spill something and specially with kids fabric is a big NO

True fabrics with kids is a big no and leatherette is easy to clean.
in you E class the leather must be perforated? meaning smalls holes in it to let air pass??

Btw your leatherette seat covers looks very good, the fitting is spot on and much better than honda's and the price is reasonable too considering the quality.

Atm none of the optional accesories honda are offering are worth getting. The 75k navigation is a waste of money, with so many problems being faced by many people.

Yes the leather is perforated in E class. But still bro that fading and cracking on Honda isn't justified provided leather in Japanese cars is not perforated in all of them.
And very true, the optionals offered are all useless. Old Navigation was still acceptable, before the expensive new upgraded system they are offering now. Though I didn't get even the previous one from Honda. Got Rockmars HC-002 for 9th gen Civic instead for Rs.25000 which fits on original wiring grips including steering controls compatibility as well. Working fine till now (touchwood). The Utility package, well i got a copy of same sunvisors for 2300 or so from market.

The navigation option on civic is crap simply.
You can install android backview mirror with navigation and camera instead for 15k

Pakistan hai, har cheez mein dhoka mil sakta hai.

Wesay if you think about it 75k is alot of money and one can get easily get a good set of Rims or a very good sound system in that price.

Is it just me or have they really provided ugly alloy rims this time with 9th Gen Civic. To be perfectly honest the wheel caps of hardtop look better than Oriel Alloys
