I had 8th gen manual for over a year and a half and literally never had any problems like knocking etc. May be you should change your petrol filling station. I hope you aint driving it on CNG.

Just bought a 9th gen civic Oriel PT and drove it from isb to Gwa... Calculated the mileage manually and found that it gave me 17.5 km/l... But imid was showing the economy a little short of 12km/l... Y is that??

Quality of radiator cap is very Cheap as compared to 8gen

Quality of ash cup is very cheap, as compared to 8gen

    Dashboard upholstery is very beautiful

    Seats are quite comfortable

Steering is wayyyyy smoother than 8gen

Better fuel economy I am getting 8.6 km/l in city drive whereas my 8gen used to give me 7 km/l

Cabin is quite silent, you hardly hear engine or outside sound.

eCo feature is a quite beneficial.

    Steering controls are luxury

    Big leg room

Oil dipped air filter, is beneficial for longer engine / oil life.

Keyless remote is awesome and sexy

Driving seat hight is abnormal I am 6.1 and for some reason with straight back my head touch the roof.

DVD navigation is of good quality.

Wrong placement of coolant bottle it's a nightmare to check it.

Wires / battery terminals are placed in such a way that you can't easily check the battery water level

Lastly I am very satisfied with my new car, and really thankful to GOD for all his blessings.
Does the i-Vtec Prosmatec has cruise control like the one in oriel prosmatec?

However In New Civic you will get following :-

    1. New Civic's Cabin is quiter coz of being More Aerodynamic and lesser Drag Co-efficient

    2. you will have two airbags

    3. key less entry with trunk opening

    4. Multi media Steering Controls

    5. Fuel Efficiency is greatly Improved, really difference is huge ! 'ECON' does come handy in City driving.

    6. Blind Spot is minimal, turning radius is improved.

    7. Seating Position is Improved

    8. More Road Clearance

    9. Slightly better torque Curve which amounts to better acceleration at all rpms.

    10. I-Mid Display

    11. Bigger Interior Space, More Leg room and slightly bigger Trunk

    12. Projector Head Lamps

    13. Indicators in Side Mirrors

    14. Better Seat Fabric ( It is Imported for Thailand and quality is better than 8 Gen Fabric )

    15. EPS steering as opposed to HPS in 8th Gen

Is that enough or should I continue ??

Reg Cost : 135k in Isb

Own Isb / Lhr : 30-40 k (NON SR version)

My Suggestion : Non SR version of Civic have slightly less popular so resale is little less. If u can find a 2000 or 3000km driven vehicle , All clean than you can save some bucks and Reg cost

Thanks a lot for posting such elaborate info. Really helpful.

What does SR stand for? It seems a variant for UK markets. Do we have SR in PK as well?

It is relieving to note 9th gen has got electric power steering.

There are a number of videos on You Tube showing this and previous Civics gliding at 200 kph @ 5300 rpm. Some videos show the car even exceeding 200 kph. If 8th gen could hit that number, why not 9th with same engine output? In case of the car not crossing 197, perhaps the transmission was not being allowed to shift into fifth gear.

Explanation for the things we do in life are complex and many. Preferring 8th gen involves, among other reasons, sentimentality and emotional attachment.

Bhai the macimum car goes to 197Km/Hr in case your ECO Mode is ON!!!!

i was driving on motorway, few months back and was trying to achieve higher Petrol Average... so i was driving slow with ECO Mode ON, when a 8th Gen Civic and Corolla 2012, whom i was crossing started racing with me, i tried to avoid them, but they was sort of playing with me and i pushed the pedal hard and the car went Whoooommm!!! but i felt there is some problem , the car was giving a hard time above 160 KM/Hr and soon i figured out ECO Mode was ON, i took my foot from Accelator and turned of the Eco Mode and after about 10 second i felt engine sound decreased and RPM Needle came half way down..... and then i took the car maximum to 202.... after that i had to break!!!!

Thanks for this explanation. Now it is quite understandable why the car does not exceed 197 kph.

XLI with Turbo(s). Why don't you share the photo of your setup as you've already revealed the mystery? It has always been my wish to see an XLI with "TURBOS"
